I think it sounds interesting. I know I won't have lots of time to play it, but it looks exciting. My younger brother will want it for sure.

Re: The Hobbit video game?
I've beat (and platinumed on the ps3) most of the LEGO video games. I am quite fond of them.
I have been praying for a Hobbit video game. It makes sense from a business standpoint.
If it is set up like the LOTR one, that would be awesome. Open world middle-earth exploration with levels within. I would be hooked!
Has anyone found any official press announces or possibly gameplay footage?

This is from sidersdd's flickr (he should start a blog, for the amount of 'firsts' and scoops I get off his flickr stream).SSchmidt wrote:I've beat (and platinumed on the ps3) most of the LEGO video games. I am quite fond of them.

Hobbit Video Game - Spring 2014 by sidersdd, on Flickr
I've played a bit of the Marvel Superheroes game (my friend had it), and whilst the gameplay tends to be repetative (smash things up until you can build something) it's the characters that bring the real charm. We just spent half the time going "that would be a cool minifigure" (fingers crossed for Fantastic Four sets with the new film next year).

Re: The Hobbit video game?
That sounds pretty sweet, not gonna lie. I played the Lego LotR demo and have seen quite a bit of footage. I think it's a continuation of a brilliant idea: mixing LotR and Lego in an exciting virtual world. I kinda wish it was a bigger, everything just seems to be a little too close together.

I imagine this will come out for the next gen systems as well. I can only imagine playing this on my PS4
I'll be on the lookout for gameplay footage. Spring 2014 is not that far off!

Re: The Hobbit video game?
The PS4 and Xbone are neither one backward compatible. It stinks for the consumer, but from a business standpoint it makes perfect sense. They continue to sell the PS3 because you need it to play the games.
I am hoping this gets a version for the PS4 that is nicer.
Also, every LEGO game (usually) comes bundled with a polybag or keychain when you preorder them. Maybe this game will get one of the two Hobbit polybags supposed to be released next spring? If that's the case, I may preorder a few copies

Re: The Hobbit video game?
This is really weird, but apparently it's only going to be based on the 1st 2 movies. Shouldn't they just wait a little bit longer and include the whole thing? Or I guess for more money, they'll make another one with all 3

I don't know for sure, but this may be a hangover from when there was originally only going to be two movies.Brickninja wrote:This is really weird, but apparently it's only going to be based on the 1st 2 movies. The first film was originally going to end after their encounter with the elves (which is now part way through the 2nd film) so it may be in fact the first video game covers the first movie and half the second movie (which would have been Movie 1). With another game released to cover the 2nd part of the 2nd movie and the final film (which would have been Movie 2) and by all sounds of it, is mainly a big battle, so wouldn't convert into much of a storyline for the game anyway.
All speculation, but a possibilty nonetheless.
Re: The Hobbit video game?
Im with andhe on this one.
Peter jackson decided to split the movie into 3 about 6 months from the first movies release date. It screwed alot of companys who had an investment in time an resources produceing merchandice for the films.
Thats why the 2 exclusive sets, barrel escape an mirkwood spider, were on shelves but not in the movie.

Re: The Hobbit video game?
I realize he split up the movies, but i'm honestly glad he did. That means more content (albeit some of which was never in the books). Either way, i'm all for as many movies and as many LEGO video games as possible!!!
