CCC XII naughty list - updated Jan 3

Hey all,

Final naughty list! Sorry for the delay - a hundred entries came in during the last few days of the contest, and we have quite a few on the naughty list. You have until midnight on the 8th (east coast USA time) to fix these issues. Once they are fixed, either post in this thread or PM me the link to your fixed entry. On the 8th, I will try to put through any remaining entries that are unfixed by linking to a single image of the correct size (where this is possible), but judging will only be based on that image.

We're making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty and nice, CCC is coming to town.

If you've submitted a contest entry, give us a couple of days to moderate it, but if it doesn't show up on the 'view entries' page, check back to this list to see if there is any problem that needs to be corrected.

Images too large - please resize them so they are at most 1600 x 1280 (or 1280 x 1600).
A word on these. If you link to a Flickr page, and when I click on 'original size' it gives me something over the limits, you get flagged as 'images too large' even though Flickr also has resized images. Here are some resources to help you resize images.

Too many images You are only allowed to enter a gallery with up to five images for judging (three for custom fig). Separate entries should be in separate galleries (sets, mocpages, etc)

Too few images - Okay, this isn't a 'naughty' thing, but I just wanted to be clear that if you only link to an individual picture, we will only judge that individual picture, even if there are other pictures to be found if we go digging around in your photostream. You should create a set with the five or three images you want us to use for judging. If you don't make a link to a gallery, I'll just eventually approve the entry linked to a single image.

Scale - Remember, entries should be largely fig-scaled. Smaller or larger scales will be moved to 'misc' if not changed. Scale mixing for the sake of forced perspective on an otherwise fig-scaled MOC is fine.

Wrong or broken link - please fix it
MassEditor -The Forgotten Monastery - You link to a forum thread. Please create a flickr folder for your entry photos. Also, they are over the size limit, so you'll also need to fix that.

Collages Photo collages are only allowed to demonstrate some 'action' element that would otherwise be unclear (e.g. showing a secret door closed and open).

Footprint violation - If your entry exceeds the size requirements (two 32x32 baseplates or one 48x48 baseplate for most categories), please fix and resubmit, or it will be shifted over to Miscellaneous.
matka The old countryside - It' s really unclear if you fit inside the footprint. Can you verify this? If not, this can shift over to large misc.


Non-LEGO parts - If an entry uses non-LEGO parts (with certain exceptions), please fix and resubmit, or it will be shifted over to Miscellaneous

Folder not yet public - Not a violation, just a placeholder since we can't evaluate your entry yet. Don't worry, nothing for you to do with these except wait until Brickshelf moderates them.



Moved to Miscellaneous - entry does not meet minimum category requirements for some other reason

I have replaced the photos on Flickr and made them the correct size, is that all I have to do?

How do I edit an entry? Just re-submit it with the corrections?

Either resubmitting or editing the pics in the Flickr link work fine. Sir Erathor, you've fixed one of the photos in each entry, but there's still an overlarge image for each one.

I re-entered Ambush in the Garden with the corrections, why does it not show up in the "view entries" page? Am I still missing something? Also, I re-submitted Mäktig Krigare with resized images

I am new to the group so please bear with me if this has been covered before or if the answer is obvious to some members. Regarding the CCC XII, custom minifig category, is a Lego "Scenery"/display platform ok with the rules. I have seen entries that have them (eg. the sweet Rohan Soldier), but I wasn't sure if it was ok. I'm not trying to make this a MOC entry. I just wanted to put a few studs under the fig. Thanks.

Thanks guys, I've updated the entries and removed them from the naughty list.

Wilfred, that question has been addressed in the question thread. Short answer - sure, a little bit of background is fine, but you need at least one of the fig and accessories against a blank background, and any built-up background will not be considered in the judging.

I think I fixed the photo size issue with the Fallen Brother scene. Sorry for the inconvenience. Has it been covered anywhere just where we can see on Flickr the original size of the image. The only way I know is not within Flickr.

I updated my Draygon Castle entry by adding a link to the full set containing 5 photos.
Also I have a link to the set containing 5 photos in my newest entry: Emerald Creek Ruins
