Hey all,
LEGO announced this upcoming set, Detention Block Rescue:

And it's a pretty awesome set. Notice, for instance, that the white striped Death-Star wall pattern isn't stickers, as you might expect, but rather fully brick-built. Years ago I argued that LEGO should make exactly this type of set - or rather I argued for a series of similar sets - rather than make some huge behemoth $300 Death Star set. Imagine a series of small sets, each featuring one or two key figs - Luke meeting Leia, the droids in the control room, Obi-Wan fighting Vader, Han and Chewie in the trash compactor, maybe a Stormie in each set. They would have sold tons of these - particularly back in the day when Stormies were pretty rare, and Leia could only be found in the Millennium Falcon set (yes, I'm old, I'm talking 15 years ago). Anyway, they finally come out with something like this, and it's an exclusive for a few people who win a raffle for the chance to buy it at one convention. Grrrr.
BTW, speaking of LEGO Death Star, did you see it in the Spider-Man Homecoming trailer?
