Whats your definition of "European"? There's English, Scandinavian, Slavic, Greek, Romance languages (Italian, French, Spanish and etc.), Germanic and etc.
Vladek ... perhaps the name was derived from a Romanian origin with "Vlad", as in Vlad Dracul, the Romanian prince who fought agaisnt the Turkish invaders? Considering Vlad being the base for what became the legend of Dracula... kinda obvious why the bad guy would have such a name.

I'm no linguist but it sounds like they were named by the same foolish person who named those Bioncle action figures, and Gal... I can't even type the word it will give me the hives.

I believe it derives from the Slavic "volod" which means "rule" or maybe "ruler" or something of that nature. Vlad Tepes, aka Dracula ("the little dragon"), aka Vlad the Impaler, was Wallachian, though Wallachia later joined with Moldavia to form Romania.
Vladek seems most obvious to me as a heavy because of Vladek Sheybal, who portrayed any number of sleazy bad guys, the most memorable probably being Kronsteen in
From Russia with Love.

Actually at lot of the Bionicle names are derived from Polynesian and other pacific islander and Asian words.
- Toa means hero
- nui means land
- onua means earth
and in several SE Asian languages, including my own Filipino, the word Mata means eye. Some pac. islanders have languages such as Samoan related to Malay languages.
Dunno about Danju.... according to google the word Danju isn't limited to Japanese.

The same with Jayku....

i think medivel names depended on what class in society you were and probably alot of people were named after saints and bible names.

Yes. But apparently the people who created this new Knights' Kingdom series didn't care a MegaBlok about reality.
