Making a plaugemask...

After watching a documentary about the plauge I was inspired to make a mask, you know, those doctors and sometimes priests had when working with plauge victims... But I have no idea how to make it.

One idea was to use a balaclava head together with a cone, but Im unsure of to put them together, and it didnt look right.
Any ideas? A purist way would be the best, but customizing is of course wanted too. :)

its a protective mask to stop the plague (a very big desease that strikes whole countries) from affecting the user, it probably didnt work but they didnt know what did work

Here is an example:

Sorry for the mispelling, "Plauge" sounds more like it is said than "Plague" which sounds french to me, so I guess thats the reason I allways spell wrong on the word.

Sounds like a job for sculpey, but here's an idea I just had while typing that:
Take one of those stupid, useless goggle visor pieces (Image), cut an angled section out of a cone and glue it back together to make it look like a beak, then glue the beak to the bottom of the goggles. You could then attach the mask to a helmet or to a hairpiece.

Or you could sculpt the beak and glue it to the goggles, which would probably be easier.

You could glue or otherwise attach the goggles to a nija mask,

or... you could do this:

I think E's got a good suggestion there. Although his version (The black) looks like a gas mask. You could always paint that part yellow.

Wow - I've never seen anything like that - almost looks kind of creepy... It's bad enough to have had the plague - they had to have people wearing that scary thing all around them too? Poor people!

Anyway, now that I have a better idea of what you are talking about, I'd go with Shadow on this one - perhaps if you made the whole custom mask white, it would be even better - especially since the mask seems to be white in the referenced example.

Ninja mask wouldnt look right (I need the pointy nose) but the second one is grand! Unfortunatly however, all my goggles (not useless) and gasmask helmets are being used by my evil futuristic army...

Ive been looking at the new Avatar sets, and find that perhaps I should glue one of those white skelly masks with a white cone, and draw black lines on the sides of the cone?

Here is a plague doctor in full clothing:

Menacing, isnt it?

I suggest taking one of the new Viking horns, cutting of the edge that minifigs can grab. glue it to the goggles, and glue those to the bottom of a tophat so they stay on a minifig.

good plan! the cone one would have been just too big and not curvy as it should be

Good idea! Though I will experiment on my own with some other methods before I "get to work".
Pretty strange I missed the horn idea... But thanks for enlightening me! :D

Now, all I need is a quarantine...
And why not a medical amphitheatre? Perhaps a little early history-vise, but in evilness why not?
