Castle 2007 name?

Post by JPinoy »

Lego never gave the new Castle theme a name aside from "Castle".

Over on BrickLink I keep refering to them as "Castle 2007".

And we already have Crown Knights from the Classics era.

IMO, considering their use of a wide variety of weapons, how they have "old school" castle parts, how the sets seems to have plenty of minifigs, and how heavily armed and armored their mounted knights are (more so than even the Black Knights)... I was thinking of the name: "Imperial Knights".

What other names would you guys suggest?

Like KK1, i'm personally referring to the heroes of this theme just as "Royal Knights". If Lego does some promotional comics a la KK2 presumably they'll be given more of an official name.

As for the villans, they're just "the dead" surely? :?

regal knights? king's knights? to be honest, castle 2007 seems perfectly adequate for the time being
79% of Classic Castle hates KK2. If you're one of the 20% that loves it, paste this into your sig. Started by Danju.

The villains can be refered to as the Necromancer Army, The Undead, Death Knights, Skeleton Warriors, or whatever.

I think 'Castle 07' works fine. Also, we don't know the (possible) story for this theme yet so I think we should just wait until Lego decides on what names the factions have.

I agree that LEGO should have some say on names of their own factions before we do.

Unless this is their way of compensating for having a pre-made story. We can now choose the names of the factions, as it's pretty obvious which one is supposed to be "good" and "evil"...

The knights of the 2007 Castle sets seem to be in a relentless battle with hoards of undead skeletons and skeletal horses, so maybe we could call them Knights of the Living. Here are some other whimsical possibilities that emphasize their state of being alive:

The Zombie-nots
The People's Army of "I'm not dead yet!"
Fleshie Fighters
The Pregrave Pugilists
Garrison of gut-filled guys
The Warmblooded Warriors
Bone Breaking Boys of Battle

...OK, I'll stop now

I would prefer that they stay away from there horrible castle KK2 stuff, and go back to creating crusaders, black knights and black falcons.

lol

I hope they don't get a name, because a name could me a premade storyline, like KK2.

Yeah like how Black Knights, Black Falcons, and etc. are all premade.

Are children/adults these days sooo lacking in imagination that they can't make the choice to rename something on their own?

My meaning was that a name could be an indication of a storyline. I am not against a name, but I am against a storyline. As to the Black Knights, Black Falcons, etc, they were a long time ago.

Hello!

Well, from their heraldry they are pretty much "Crown Knights" and "Skull Knights". Though I don't think those skeletons are "knights" in the social meaning of any kind of Middle Ages, but rather puppets in the hand of an evil sorcerer.

Um...other than being another 'new stuff sucks', what does this have to do with faction names for Castle 07?
