The BloodVaine EpicChapter 45: The Return Of Fraun
Fraun awoke with a start.
Fear, pain, suffering…what was happening? He needed a fresh breath of air so he dressed in a tunic, pulled on his trousers, and went downstairs. He quietly slipped out the door as to not awaken the sleeping Voolmark and Dordrot. After he had closed the door, he took a breath of fresh air and smelled the clean air. Suddenly a squad of his Rangers burst out of the forest. In there lead was the Forestman elf Darmay.
“Captain Fraun! We bring news from Drullen Bell Keep!” panted Darmay.
“Explain yourself quietly!” Fraun said in a loud whisper, “Two of my friends are in the cottage sleeping.”
“I am sorry sir, but we have much news.”
“Come inside, and tell all.” said a voice from the cottage door. It was Voolmark.
“Thank you.” said Darmay.
After leaving his men outside Darmay came in and the three men sat down at a table.
“Tell your story, Darmay.” said Fraun.
“Well sir. It all began when you ordered us to scout out the area around Drullen Bell. We did and when we where turning back. We ran into a Forestmen detachment. They told us that Barbod King of the Bulls had been there but a few weeks before. He left with a Lone Ranger character of sorts. This Lone Ranger fellow said he knew where there was one thousand Bulls!”
At this there was a gasp from the hallway and in rushed Dordrot.
“It cannot be true!” exclaimed Dordrot.
“Oh, but it is.” said Darmay, “You can always trust a Forestman’s word.
“Did this Forestman say where Barbod was?” asked Dordrot.
“No. And shut up and sit down. I have not finished my tell.” said the annoyed elf, “As I was saying. Barbod left. Now, sir, this is the real whopper. Bjarn the Forestmen has risen to power as the Forestmen leader after his cousin Isaac’s death.”
“Bjarn?” asked Voolmark. “Not that little youngster that I used to teach?”
“Teach?” asked Fraun.
“Why yes. I used to hold a small history class for the youngsters that where orphaned.”
“I see.” said Fraun.
“May I please finish the story?” said the elf.
“Oh, yes of course. Continue.” said Voolmark, a smile spreading across his face.
“Thank you.” said Darmay. “Anyways, Bjarn has risen to power and then Radjar Kath killed twelve Forestmen while being controlled be a demon. He was put on trial and then he was healed or something then the demon jumped into demon-slayer Searil Chordate and killed Forestmen while escaping. Oh by the way, how didn’t you get hit by that forest fire?”
“Forest fire?” exclaimed Fraun.
“Yes. The one that passed by here five or so days ago.”
“We were in Classic LEGOland at that time.” said Voolmark. “That protective spell I cast over my cottage and some of the land surrounding must have blocked the fire.”
“How was the fire started?” asked Fraun.
“They say by the necromancer BloodVaine and the Eroth Gamus.”
“So the prophecies are coming true then.” said Voolmark. “BloodVaine must be the one causing the Mana disturbances.”
Suddenly Fraun jumped out of his seat. There was commotion outside. He opened the door to see one hundred Rangers at the front door.
“We are heading to Drullen Bell Keep.” said one of them, “You are our leader. Will you lead us?”
“Of course!” said Fraun.
“I’m coming too!” bellowed Dordrot.
“And I will assist you in your journey also.” said Voolmark.
“Then get packed and let’s go!” shouted Fraun.
