Ye Olde Republic wrote:Dan, you and I are seeing two different hats here. You're seeing just another tricorn that looks the same as the old one and I'm seeing Captain Jack Sparrow's iconic leather tricorn. It could be that we see this differently because we have two levels of 'care'?
Quite possibly perhaps.

Why a new hat? First off, it's probably a one piece element for the hat and hair and secondly, Jack's hat is iconic. I for one would have been disappointed if they'd have used the old hat. Besides, if it's not one piece, a second style of tricorn is a welcome addition. Okay, if it is a one piece el...

So tell me Lego, why did you reinvent the wheel? Why did you create a new piece for Jack's hat, when the old piece is almost exactly the same? Surely you don't think kids can't tell who the character is without creating a special hat for him?

Oh Lego...

Welcome Taylor. As to your question, in just about every instance I use baseplates. I personally don't understand at all how someone can think they are limiting (yes Ben, I mean you  ). Well, with builds smaller than say...32x32 aside. While the finished product might not end up having any of ...

Very cool, and very well thought out. It is a brilliant horse. The shape, and articulation is just spot on! There is something a bit awkard looking on the minifig's waist area, but still a fine, fine job.

Nowhere wasn't descriptive enough; my brain was searching for names, and I yanked two names out of my mind from two different sources. Burgess is the last name of a fellow I know, and, well, your last name jumped into my head too. If you'd like us not to use it, that's fine. If not, then I promise ...

If they had given the movie a different name, it would have been very good. While it was a fairly decent flick...it really lacked anything to do with me (Robin Hood that is). Pity.

Oh, and Russel Crowe....not the best rendition of me. Not by a long shot.

In fact, it was that lack of practical reasoning that lead many AFOLs to subscribe to the conspiracy theory that the colors were changed for a practical reason that was not made public- :roflol: Oh man....I find that sentance so, so very, amusing. We have our on conspiracy theorys now too......haha...
