Hey all,
I'd like to collect a listing of all of the different standards used for group Castle displays. What sort of standards have you used for various fan gatherings?
CCC standard
CCC farm standard
Base8 and more
Medieval Marketplace standard <- Is there an article out there for this? I find a broken link only.
Tall Wall standard
micro standard (preliminary discussions)
Am I missing any? Are there better articles for the ones I have?
Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Call for standards
I have a hard copy of the MM standard. Unfortunately, the website ceased to exist a long time ago. I will dig it out this week, scan it, and send it to you, Bruce.Bruce N H wrote:Medieval Marketplace standard <- Is there an article out there for this? I find a broken link only.

Re: Call for standards
I think it would be worth adding the standard for the Brickfest 2002 castle layout, at least for historical purposes.
http://www.lugnet.com/events/brickfest/~150/layout/
Note that this standard is totally compatible with Base8, though the fundamental module unit is 16x16 rather than 8x8, and the specification includes technic pin connections between modules.
Here's the first picture in a series of the BrickFest 2002 Castle Display, I'm sure there are more pictures of it scattered about:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=213208
I don't know if any parts of that display other than my wharf section still exist.
There was also a wall standard used for that display, Here is Troy Cefaratti's post linking to pictures of his wall standard, I'm not sure if this was the final standard:

Re: Call for standards
I switched ISP's from Earthlink to Verizon back in February, so the link for the Tall Wall standard has changed. It is now:
http://mysite.verizon.net/crazylegoman/ ... walls.html
The Earthlink link still works, but it's only a matter of time before those files are wiped.
David
P.S. -- Thanks for including the Tall Wall standard! We used it again at Brickworld this past June.

Re: Call for standards
Oh, it would also be really helpful if people could link to displays using any of these standards.

Re: Call for standards
Mind if I ask what this is all for Bruce? I've had a Base8 rewrite-in-progress for more than a year now, if you're doing some sort of big combined article or something it might be the nudge I need to finish it up. PM me if you like.
One of the better Base8 displays I've been involved with: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39911510@N ... 320798640/ I don't have any pics from BrickFest 07, that one was pretty sweet too.Oh, it would also be really helpful if people could link to displays using any of these standards.

Re: Call for standards
That is indeed it. I'm cleaning up the city section of the site and want to include links to all of the different standards people use. So do please let me know if you re-write the base-8 standard description so I can link to it. Or, if you'd like, we could host the article here on the CC server. Mainly I just want there to be one place where people can go to find information about the different standards in use when they start planning events.BreadMan wrote:Mind if I ask what this is all for Bruce?
