Indy Lego (Now with More Reviews!)

Post by Athos »

Not convinced, but here is the link:

Personally, I'd rather see a new JT line... Here's hoping the source misspoke and meant an Indy-like line...

It wouldn't be much of a stretch for LEGO to do it, if true. After all, just slap a new face on Johnny Thunder and they could re-introduce every single adventurer set and call it a day.

If this was for the past Indie movies, does that mean we get melting Lego nazis now?

Hehe, that'd just be cruel...

I would LOVE that, however the new film is suposedly set much later, in the 50's I think. So unless there's to be neo-nazis, then I don't think we'll see that. Also, I would love the yellow heads, not fleshies...
Ah, but we can dream. (I would buy them just for the WWII figs!!!)

Well then, it would be fitting to keep the Han Solo/Harrison Ford head in circulation then. That's a darned good rumor. :D

If the rumors are true, an Indiana Jones Lego line would be fantastic. I could see MOCs of the flying wing, the rolling rock scene, the Ark, a German tank (which wasn’t really German). The mind boggles with ideas.
I am probably guessing it would be an extension to the adventurers line. I hope that he gets a proper hat – something like this.

Oh my... this would be so cool. I havn't had an Indiana Jones toy since that original Kenner action figure with the spring loaded arm :D I think a true Indy hat would be a certainty. However I don't know if LEGO will go as far as producing a Nazis in the line, they will probably focus on the other films. But who knows? We've got guns now havn't we?

Let's see...

Raiders: Himalayan bar, planes (several types), submarine base, dig site, the Ark (no! don't open it! aaaaarrrrrrgggghh).

Doom: plane, temple, palace, suspension bridge, mine car race.

Crusade: tank, Rolls Royce (?), Venice, airship, motorbike w/sidecar, Grail room, castle, Hitler (no, that's going too far!).

I just want a wicked whip piece and a lot of treasure. And maybe new female faces too. And foliage. And weapons. :)

I'm with Athos. A revival of the JT Adventurers line would be just as cool, if not cheaper. SW was quite different from LEGO's space theme, so that made a bit more sense, but JT is close enough to Indy that JT alone would suffice.

After thinking about it a bit, I wonder if maybe they wouldn't try a JT line to cash in on the Indy craze for fear of alienating Lucas...

Sure an independent JT line would be cheaper (and much better), but it might also make Lucas mad, in that Lego was trying to cash in on his project with a cheaper derivative project...

By the way, does anyone have any idea what the plot is?

Perhaps the working title is a give-away: "Indiana Jones and the Quest for More Money!"

Heh... when I read the title, I thought: "Indie music Legos? What?!"
This makes more sense.
In any case, I think I'll just wait and see.

Hmm, maybe it's a new venture for IndyLUG? :) I guess I'm in the negative on this. In general I am happier with LEGO-generated themes than licensed themes. Star Wars is the one real bright point for licenses, but IMO they shouldn't have extended the series. I'd rather just see other JT sets than an Indiana Jones license (with fleshy figs and limitations on the possible sets).

Being a huge IJ fan, (my daughter is named Indigo in part so I get to call her Indy - really - no exageration :D) I will reserve judgement on this line until I actually get to see some sets. It may be really really cool.
Or it may fizzle out like the Avatar line. (and I bought those! I loved 'em!)

Finally - a Lego Fedora!
