Disagreeable Females vs Temple Guardians

Post by RebelRock »

Remember these ladies? Well, it turns out they're not the nicest babes. They've decided to invade the land of the Black Pyramid and desecrate it's most holy relic. A small group of temple guardians is in a standoff and waiting for reinforcements to help in defense.

The entire groundwork is SNOT. I had fun making the little snot river. (sounds gross huh?)

No direct links this time, I've got to get some sleep. Have patience. :P

Also, I'm not sure if this is the final version but it's close.

Edit - I changed the post title. Bruce

This folder needs to be public. It looks totally word synonymous with "cool" removed - Bruce. I need to see it in more detail. DARN YOU!

RRock: I can't say that I agree with the title of this post, but your MOC looks fantastic. I'll look for it again after BS moderation.

Hey,

Just went through the Brickshelf folder. This layout is totally cool. A black pyramid is really imposing, and I like that archway and the tan statue a lot. The flying carpet is a really simple but effective idea. One question - are the studs-up portions (pyramid, archway, statue, obelisks, plants) attached, or held by gravity?
The use of slopes going from the 2-stud thick desert floor to the 1-stud thick river works really well. I'd be interested in seeing someone extend this idea to doing some actual landscaping on a SNOT surface like this--making it not all flat, but at varying thicknesses.

That's a lot of Leia torsos...

The arch is really well done too. I like the combination of square and round bricks.

I really like the SNOT river. Almost as much as I like saying SNOT river.

I think my favorite part is the flying carpet though.

Great work, RR! I also love the "slopey" transition from river to desert. That is a LOT of black slopes!

Keep this up and I'll lump you in the same category as Keith Goldman. :D

Everything but the minifigs are attached with technic pins.

I've already got plans for that. This was my second experiment with a SNOT base and practice for upcoming ideas. :)

Very impressive work RRock! I'm really excited to see some one ventureing out of Europe and into other 'realms' of medieval history.

Boy, I'm gonna have to kick my stuff up a notch. It looks great as SNOT ground, but my favorite part are the banks of the river. Just plain cool!!!

It looks very nice, but I don't think using SNOT works for the ground when it is sand. It looks good, but unrealistic. Then again, its a bunch of semi Naked Women fighting to destroy a black pyramid.

Overall, it looks great.

and what is wrong with my one line response? As it goes i am indeed impressed by his model so impressed i'm speechless infact, especially since i can't get a closer look at first i thought it was a microscale model, but noticed its minifig scale, and from what i see i'm impressed,me thinks people who see bad intentions in sentences such as "i'm impressed"
have some serious issues to deal with.

Asterios, that was so unnecessary. If you have an issue, deal with it via a PM. I think what Nelson tried to state is that you need to mention the reasons why you were impressed. When people read others' posts, they want to see the reasons of their reaction because sometimes they notice things that we ourselves don't ;).

Anywaaaays, back on topic. I think I don't need to tell you how awesome that snot river is! And that black pyramid is pure evil. I think our girls are doing this because of good, not evil :). And that flying carpet is a nice touch although it would be more appropriate in an Indian scene rather than an Egyptian one :). Great work!
