A few new creations...

Post by Legolas »

Just a couple of weapons I wanted to show everyone. This first one was inspired by TwoTonic Knight's Warhammer, I took the same approach by using a pike axe, but just modified it a little differently, which I am very please with how it turned out :)

While the second came to me after playing a videogame, in which the main character had a weapon called "The Sword of Light". Well after ALOT of drimeling to a trans-neon green one of these... I was able to make it thin enough to look like a sword :D and after that I made it a handle and here you have it.....

Let me know what you think...

I love the hammer. I could definitely use something like that in my creations.
As for the sword... it's really neat, and obviously took a lot of work, but I'm not overly fond of it. Maybe it's the fact that it's made of 4 different colored pieces... maybe I just don't like the transparent green blade. I'm not really sure. Either way, great job.

Thank you
now bout my sword....two things I should clearify.

1. I plan on painting the handle one solid color either light or dark grey....
2. Did I mention the Blade is removable ?

anyways thanks for the reply :D

I like the warhammer very much, though I suspect you are going to get a fair amount of votes for "hardware store". That round head, while perfectly historical, is going to remind people of the classic claw-hammer most of us think of when the word "hammer" is used. It's one reason why I left the head square (though that makes it look like a rock hammer - soft rock or hard rock depending on if I leave the tail broad or pointed - not that many people are familiar with that).

My third warhammer has four cuts that form a weapons-only clawed head that alleviates the "hardware store" look. I'll have to post that when I get a chance.

A cleverly disguised light sabre. It needs to have the feather color resolved, but it nicely medievalizes (if I may make up a word) the Star Wars weapon.

Hi Joey,

Those are quite nice. But maybe if you'd photograph your hammer in the hand of a minifig (so as to show the size of it), it'll resemble less something you'd find in a DIY store?

Also, I like the sword very much. But plumes on the hilt seem a bit out of place because they are so thin (particular in the picture on the left hand side). I'd this same problem when I first started making swords out of assorted pieces, but I find that look will improve a great deal if you 'thicken' them with some sculpey clay. but good work overall :)

The hammer looks quite hardware-like. Personally, I prefer it to the sword. As TTK said, it looks like a medievalised Star Wars weapon. And personally, I don't really like those sorts of weapons. Give me a good, leather-bound, steel broadsword any day.

Still, the customizing looks very professional and well-done.

I'm really anxious to see what changes you've done to the warhammer :)

lol Thanks, I'll try and paint the plumes, might wait until I can get some sculpey like Red Bean suggested to thicken them up some, even I think their thin. I just liked the shape they gave the hilt.
BTW....I couldn't resist....I had to make my own bearded axe as you can see in the pic below, they're just so cool looking and so easy to make....can't believe I never thought to make one before... :(.

I like the hammer a lot, only not for castle. It would look good in a town scene.

The sword is a bit too much fantasy for my taste, but is excellently built.

Hmmm, I like all of them. Did you just glue the pieces together?
I build, therefore I am.
