I like the idea of a famous knight from some far away land. I like personalizing my knights with names, personalities and heraldry.
I love seeing other AFOLs who do the same with their sigfigs, and it gives them a much more real feel when someone other than you created them.
I thought it would be cool if a Knight Exchange existed, similar to the Fig Exchange at Christmas. Would anyone else be interested?
An example would be if JoshWedin trades his sigfig:

Hmm perhaps. I would have to make a duplicate though. No way I'm giving my real sigfig.

i doubt that would happen. some knights are $30+ a pop, while others are merely $3. i doubt anyone sane would be crazy enough to do that.
even if it's a fair exchange, what makes you think that people who have a unique sigfig would want someone else to have an exact duplicate? sorry, just doesn't compute.

Or maybe some sort of single-fig impulse-set trade. Say, 25 pieces max, and people could bid on them or something for trading. Highest votes for "want" gets first choice of trade, etc. Not even a vignette, just whatever you can come up with that's similar to "The Knight" or "The Good Wizard" that can be traded. No fig restriction, just a part limit. Anything castle themed allowed.
There is a huge difference in fig costs/values, etc, but I might be willing to part with one of my older figs in exchange for something I don't have easy access to like a wizard, a king, a newer knight with euro armor, etc. I know some folks here love the forestmen, I have a few I could make some sort of little set out of to trade for something else. The voting/bidding scheme might be tricky but it does sound like a good time.

Some of us, myself included, are very attached to the older faction figures. I don't think I would trade any of the Yellow Castle era knights that I have, as I have had them since childhood.natelite wrote:i doubt that would happen. some knights are $30+ a pop, while others are merely $3. i doubt anyone sane would be crazy enough to do that.
