New Takeshi Itou: Town Bridge and City Hall

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

Takeshi Itou posted a new MOC, the Town Bridge and City Hall (Brickshelf, Castle Element (his personal site). BTW, he's actually got larger images on Brickshelf, so I'd go there to see details.

Cheers for posting this Bruce! It almost takes me back in time to see the familiar backgrounds. Those MOCs were always so inspiring... and still are!

God Bless,

I saw this on Brickshelf this morning...Takeshi Itou is one of my favorite builders, although I'd not place this among his top works (see the Tower and Field series, Drawbridge Castle, and Snow Field Castle).

I like how he has cut right through the surrounding townhouses along the edges of the model. It does a nice job of giving the impression of a more expansive town-scape.

Best,
Brody

Oooh yes!

Thanks for posting this, Bruce. And yes, Nathan, you are right, it brings back memories of the old days. (Heck, I'm old enough to mention "old days" already.)

I like this new display of Takeshi very much. The general idea intrigues me. Funny thing is, the German town of Bamberg has a Townhall built on a bridge: click. I wonder if he knew about it. The sweetest detail, though, would be the big amphora in the bow of the boat:

Now that I see it it seems so obvious, yet I never came up with that idea.

Thanks for pointing this out Bruce, Takeshi Itou has been and is one of the most inspiring builders I've seen around, I have always liked his style since my first days as a member of this community and my admiration for him doesn't cease. This is another of his wonderful creations.

Nice find Bruce. Glad to see this builder finally put up some higher resolution pics. The quality of his work demands it!

This amphora is fantastic. Too bad those elements in dark grey are at least $12 each on bricklink. Many of the other colors the scala flower pot is available in (salmon, light blue, etc) do not have 2x2 dishes available in the same color. Now I need to decide whether or not to open that misb ucs x-wing or not...

Wow. I have been sitting here trying to think of what feature of this MOC that I like the best, and, well, have been having too much to choose from. The yellow house in the back is great. I love how it arches over the street. The "castle" is not overly large, more in line with the other city buildings. I like how the four bridges intersect in the middle under the castle. Overall this MOC has a great layout.
