Knight + Mount Sets

Post by Username »

More musing!

The battle pack/minifig pack threads got me to thinking about all the cool rider + mount sets that I bought from back in the day: 6009, 6008, 6007, 4818, and, again for the Ninja fans, 6013.

Would you be interested in seeing small sets like these come back again: rider, mount and gear? If they did come back at current impulse prices, how many of each would you buy assuming the set featured a generic soldier/knight?

I would buy a lot of them!

I only wish I had bought more of the blakc knights back in the early 90s. It was an awesome deal. It would be nice for some more mounts in general. Seems less and less sets have horses. Back in the old days you got 4 horses to a castle.... then two.... now one. Hope this trend does not continue, would be nice if it reversed.

This would be a cool way of introducing older factions. I'd love to see the old BFs and others complete with horse and barding with his squire. I know that alot of fans love large monolithic armies, but I'm a sucker for a range of different knights and their respective heraldry.

B and W,

That is a great idea. A Knight with mount and a squire to attend them all decked out would be most excellent!

I believe this would sell well. Lego would have a chance to offer minifigs that are not in the current battle packs or impulse sets (King, Princess). Also, a peasant version could be produced. Have a peasant minifigs (or the Jester) package with the cow.

Oh that's a great idea! Something under or at $5 with a hero, subordinate a mount/beast and small construction accessory. You could do the Knight from the Final Joust, some general weapons & shield with a 1x4 brick and some 1x1clips to hold them, the horse and back-bricks, barding and a spare saddle and a cloth-quarter Crownie squire for one set. The Peasant Farmer from Medieval Market Village with a cow, pitchfork and brick chickens and brown fence would be fine too. Oh you could go on and on like this and never run out!!

Sounds great! Well, so long as they don't put the prices up too high (IMO $15 is very steep for these castle battlepacks...you can get a SW one with four figs and a construction thingy for $10...so seriously)...

Wow! Get a peasant, cow, pitchfork, chickens and fence?? How could I not buy that for $5?! :D
Albeit $5 may still be somewhat steep there...but for those parts... :eyebrows:

So long as the price isn't too high, it's sounding great! :D

It'd be even better if the mount was a cow.

I'd rather not have a cow as a mount for my knights.....

I think they'd be best in a peasant set myself.
