RE: why such price disparity (star wars question)

Post by Lcuan82 »

I recently obtained a Boba Fett figure, and according to Bricklink, he's either worth around $60 (Cloud City) or $10 (all other versions). Can someone educate me as to why the Cloud City one is much more expensive? And what exactly is the difference, except for the leg patterns?

Thanks,

Luke

The only differences are the leg and arm printing, colour aside as there are versions of Boba in both classic and new grey. My thinking on why the printed Boba is so much more is that the figure is pretty rare as it came in a $100 set that wasn't widely availible, as in only from Shop @ Home. Hope that helps.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

It must have been available a little more widely. I got mine at a Winners in Nanaimo (Cdn verson of TJ Maxx). :eyebrows:

That was a wonderful LEGO set. It constructed a decent playset with room for landing either the Slave 1, Millennium Falcon, Imperial Shuttle, Cloud Car or the X-Wing and plenty of interior for the minifigure collection. Being modular, you could arrange it any way you wanted and slip it into your shelves or your own constructions. The best part was the minifigure assortment, with this version of Boba Fett being very nicely done. I'd say he's perfection of all his LEGO incarnations and hence quite a valuable addition to a Star Wars LEGO collection. While he is good by himself as a minifigure, he is far more interesting as a visual element to the Cloud City playset he came from.

Thanks for the responses! I think I have the less-expensive version of Boba Fett... but still a steal anyways b/c I've been acquiring a lot of castle figs lately and he came wearing an euro armor and helmet (the owner must not have bothered to check).
