LEGO Castle Element Survey

Post by architect »

Dear Classic-Castle members,

It is the time of the year to gather castle feedback for TLG. Please post a list of castle elements (existing elements, out of production elements, new pieces) that you would like to see added to future castle sets. You should also include the color and part numbers of elements in your list. Please limit your list to ten elements.

This information will be passed along to the castle designers. Thank you.

Ben Ellermann

I like all of these, except the spear one. I'd rather see them focus on new parts or old parts in new colors, rather than trying to make a multicolored element. Though, if we're going with bi-colored elements, a sword with grey and trans-orange would look nice in a blacksmith shop.

And I'm going to kind of break the rules and make some general suggestions:

1. All hair and beard pieces in different colors (tan, brown, black, red, orange, grey and white)
2. All container pieces (barrels, boxes, chests, crates) in different colors (black, grey, tan, dark brown, dark tan, etc.)
3. More variety of faces (with Star Wars going fleshy and cartoony, the variety of faces has gone down a lot)

As for new parts, I'd suggest:

1. Deer - for hunting
2. Sheep - for shepherding
3. Bishop's Miter - for blessing

1. Cow - in brown and maybe a new one in black - x1937cx1
2. Pig - the new one that will be coming out in an upcoming farm set, so I don't know the part number

Small sets with either of these and a peasant fig would be wonderful sellers

3. Plant Leaves 6 x 5 - Orange, yellow, dark red - 2417
4. Minifig hood -in any color except brown or black- x115
5. Minifig Food Turkey (Complete Assembly with 2 Legs)' - 33048c01

And, as with Steve, I'll round out my list with hairpieces - in any color, especially new colors:
6. Minifig, Headgear Hair Female Short with French Braid around Sides, Hole On Top 64807
7. Minifig, Headgear Hair Female Mid-Length with Part over Front of Right Shoulder 85974
8. Minifig, Headgear Hair Female Mid-Length with French Braid around Sides 59363
9. Minifig, Headgear Hair Ponytail Long with Side Bangs 62696
10. Minifig, Headgear Hair Long and Top Braided x161

Here's my short list:

1. Minifig Hood (x115) Dark Green
2. Minifig Cape Cloth (522) Dark Green
3. Minifig Shield Round Flat (x1770px2) Black/printed pattern
4. Minifig Arrow Quiver (4498) Dark Brown
5. Minifig Bow with Arrow (4499) Dark Brown
6. Minifig Accessory Forestman Cap (775) Dark Green
7. Minifig Pitchfork (4496) Dark Brown

Mostly minifigure bits up there, but really I don't want to leave it to chance. Those are really important elements to a developing edge of my forest kingdom and the surrounding farms. On to "real" parts now:

8. Slope Brick 45 3 x 1 Inverted Double (2341) Light Gray
this little 3x1 inverted gem is really rare now, but I was so very pleased to see it pop up in the Winter Toy Shop. It sold the set by itself!

9. Door 1 x 5 x 7 & ½ (30223) Dark Brown
10. Brick 1 x 1 x 2 with Shutter Holder (3581) Light Gray

That big and meaty door is simply better than all other wooden doors for the shear amount of brick-y things you can do with it, and I am afraid that those shutter holders might become scarce now too with the new shutter elements (which are not as tidy).

I mean, of course, in all the current definitions of those colors mentioned above.

- Pitchfork - 4496 Image
brown, dark brown, or black - Don't care if it's the old design or a new one. A newer pitchfork might work in the new farm sets in addition to castle!

- Plant Leaves 6 x 5 2417 Image Image Image Image
brown, tan, yellow, orange, red, or dark red

- Minifig cowl x79 or new design Image
white, or tan - Need more head coverings for peasant women.

- Maidens Hat x107 Image
blue, green, pink, or yellow

- Some sort of new door 3644 or similar Image Image Image Image
brown, dark brown, gray, dark gray, tan - The vast majority of doors in LEGO are either A) grand entry doors, B) modern doors, C) doors with windows. I'd like to see some good interior doors for buildings and/or "low-class" doors for peasant houses

- Slope Brick 75 2 x 2 x 3 Double Convex 3685 Image
gray (MORE OF THESE! Yes, I know they're in the new Battle of Endor set. WANT MORE!)

- Plant Leaves 6 x 5 2417 Image Image Image Image
brown, tan, yellow, orange, red, or dark red
I'd like to add WHITE. Even though I can play with Tony's white forest from time to time this would be cool to have in more sets.

And Also these In BLACK!

Forestman Hat - Red, dark red, dark green, dark brown, tan, dark tan, green, brown - x106
Farmers cowl - Same colours as above - x79
Any minifig hair in any new colours
Horse -brown, dark brown, grey, dark grey-(brown horses in both chestnut/sorrel and true bay[black mane and tail])
Maidens hat -no specific colour - x107
Window pane, lattice - white, brown, yellow, blue, green, tan, BAH just gimme! - 60607
Door, any colour - 3644

I'm totally with Dave on the idea of doors that work well on a commoners house. That old door would actually translate pretty well with a new mould similar to the new window shutters.
Trevor

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!
