Should TLG Use the Knights Kingdom Visors in future sets
Should TLG Use the Knights Kingdom Visors in future sets
Should the Knights Kingdoms visors ,(only in silver or black) be used in future sets ?

As long as they're not in goofy colors, I think they could add a bit of variety to a new castle theme.

Who voted no? Why shouldn't they? It's a nice benefit to the structure of the knight. It adds a sense of superiority to their power.

I'm not fond of the KK visors, and colour isn't the only issue I have with them. Most of the visors are simply too futuristic. They don't look particularly medieval to me. I appreciate that you could make the argument that they look vaguely like a helmet from the late 15th or early 16th century, however I don't really see it. I would prefer to see new designs or just stick with what we've got.

I think several of them are actually somewhat historic.
The Baby Blue one, if done in a good color, would look like various visors of the 14th and 15th. The visors from the first half of the 14th on early bascinets come to mine.
The Green on is very much like a billowed faced sallet visor from the late 15th.
The purple one has some good points to it but not sure it is historic. If done in another decent color I'd be OK with it.
The red one is odd and I'd think best not redone.... in any color or ever... maybe in a space set.

I'd love to see all 4 of them released in speckled silver black and metallic silver.

Sir Kentis's, Lord Vladek's and Sir Adric's visors are the only ones worth having, and I like them quite a bit. But only in metallic or grey. Sir Rascus's visor has got to be one of the ugliest pieces to ever come off of Lego's production line, as it looks very much like Toa lewa's mask! Look at them, they're both jungle themed,(they had jungles in ancient europe? both agile, and both annoying! Sir Jayko's visor is meh. It's not horrid like Lewa's er I mean "Rascus's" visor, but I'd prefer any other old classic-castle helm. You might want to fix "vizor" in your topic headline. Believe me, I'm anything but a grammer Nazi, but you might want to fix it.

I would like to see them in new sets as long as their not in those terrible colours, but I'm happy anyway with the great helm that's coming out in the lego kingdoms.

I think they look goofy, and would look goofy even in bley or dark bley. To me they look like they belong in space sets.

I think there are quite enough of them available at this time to warrant a brief hiatus in favor of other contemporary armor of the middle ages. I certainly don't think they should be produced in anything other than metallic colors with matching body armor in the future if resurrected.

I agree here. They aren't really my favorite designs to have in greater numbers now anyway. Also, changing the color is very easy (you can find a lot of posts on how to do that here), so if I want to change colors that is easy enough to accomplish.Count Blacktron wrote:I think there are quite enough of them available at this time to warrant a brief hiatus in favor of other contemporary armor of the middle ages. I still prefer the old-school designs, or would be open to something new... perhaps less bulky~

Given the wide range of new bricks we see each year, I would rather see a new helmet or two instead of having the KKII helmets recycled. With the Fantasy line we were given new helmets for both the Dwarves and Trolls. I would prefer to see this trend continued in future lines. The pointed visor from the 90s is a bit different as it works well and doesn't seem shoehorned into the castle theme. Perhaps grey versions of the KKII visors would fit well into the Space Police theme.

I just voted "No".Laird Cashman wrote:Who voted no? Why shouldn't they? It's a nice benefit to the structure of the knight. It adds a sense of superiority to their power.
I think they are oversized and cartoonish. I don't like them. Naturally, Lego can do whatever they want, but I think these four visors are rather ugly. Yes, I have seen them used well in other colors (I've even painted one or two myself), but for the most part they are hideous. I would prefer to see different visors.
I also don't really understand the phrase "benefit to the structure of the knight". You mean it helps his looks? That is a matter of opinion, I guess, if that is what you meant. Also the phrase "adds a sense of superiority to their power" is confusing. We aren't talking about superheroes here. They are knights. If you mean that the big visors make them seem more impressive, I don't agree. A big, goofy hat never made anyone impressive.
Just my 2 cents,
Josh
