Enchanted Castle, new moc

Post by Vulture »

Hey guys, how's it going? I haven't posted in a while, but I have been doing some castle creations. Here is my latest, I dont know really what to call it, i guess it is an enchanted type castle... I made it featuring the new kingdom minifigs.

Please let me know what you think. Also, suggestions on programs to use to edit photos? Please recommend some as my castles deserve better lol... you can see my apartment there. Thanks!

Wow... that's AWESOME! I love the scenery around the castle. (Trees, flowers, grass, ect.)

The only one I know of is Photoshop... I think there are some free ones out there, too.

Nice job! I like the more livable castles.

If you want a free editing program, look for Paint.net.

That is an amazing castle! It's a nice size, and echoing others, I also like the liveable castles.

I use GIMP, which stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It's totally free, can read most kinds of image files, and can do almost anything you want it to.

Welcome (back?)! Your castle looks great. It's got a lot of neat details while still retaining that Lego-esque feel. I particularly like the A-shaped roof area of the keep, and the small door instead of a large portcullis and gate.

As to your questions, photoshop is of course the program of choice for editing. But seeing as it's far from free, GIMP would be your next best choice. There's an article here on CC giving some basic tips for using it. Also, you may wish to peruse the "Publishing" forum, down at the bottom. You'll find many discussions there on various photographing and editing techniques.

That's quite the castle. How long does it take to make something like that?

I especially liked the interior of the rooms.... and the little quill made from the flower and the feather. That was pretty sweet. ;-)

Enchanted? not so sure. Incredible? Much better. Wow that is really great structural building there.
As far as editing goes I use PAINT. NET which is very basic. Not nearly as complex as Photoshop to be sure.

Awesome work Dan.

This is a great castle! The mottling looks great and the terrain is well done. I also really like details you threw in like the Lion Head Statues on the sides of the walls. Keep up the great work.

This is great. I love how it's a medium scale castle but it looks almost impenetrable because of it's natural defences. I also loved the way you shaped the front towers. They're simple but they look perfect. Only critique it the use of a fleshy princess, but thats just me. Great Job :D !

Thanks! Great comments such as this one must mean I must be doing something right.

It took me roughly around 2-3 months to complete. It actually came out larger than I intended.

Thank you everyone for your posts, and also thanks for the photo shop suggestions. I will keep that one in mind...

Awesome job! Looks like a lot of hard work, and seems very functional as well. I do like the natural landscape as well.
