(possibe) new release of HP sets?

Post by sirJacob »

I read in a swedish lego blog the other day that lego is planning to release some of the Harry Potter setts and even some new ones!
Is this is true??
it would be wonderfull, because i were in my dark ages when the HP sets were in the stores, therefore i would love to get my hands on some of them!

this is what were said on the blog
swedishhttp://blogg.aftonbladet.se/14506
translation for u english speakers out there :D
"There's been romours about LEGO planing to re-release HP sets and even release som new ones from the HP video games (1-4). In an interview with the game developers they gave something that sounded like a confirmation of this!
Here is a list of the names and numbers on the sets that might be released in november next year!

4736 Dobbys Release
4737 Quidditch Lesson
4738 Hagrids Hut
4840 The Burrows
4841 Hogwarts Express
4842 Hogwarts Castle

Can anyone confirm this?
I hope this is not against any of the CC rules and will be removed?... in that case, I apologize!

and last, look at set: 4840 The Burrows. Thats a new one!! Yeay!!

what do u think?

They sound just like the older sets, except the Burrows...

(smacks head in frustration) Oh, no! Anything but Harry Potter! Lego said that they would not make any more because it was too dark. But that's corporations for ya. Oh, well, more ugly Harry Potter minifigs to go in the junk drawer. I'll only buy the sets if I find them on sale for 99.99% off. Why, Lego, why. :?

:twitch: ooh no mr Napoleon! u hurt my fealings!
The HP sets are amazing, they have heaps of good pieces and in great colours!
the minifigs are maybe not the best, but they have some good animals, and other cool figs that are great for castle building! like the elf, the three headed dog, statues etc...

i seneserely hope to se HP on the shelves ones more!
(and consider how much brown bricks u would have after purchaising the Burrow) :D

If they come back I'll consider them if they add something new to the line that was already produced in the way of new characters, buildings, classrooms and good set design. HP is one of my favorite themes from LEGO.

I wouldn't mind seeing the re-release of HP. If the set's aren't over-priced I'd love to pick up some more hogwarts uniforms, they're nice for suits.

 Sorry, sirJacob, I don't mind if you like them, and hope you have fun if-and-when they come out. I just meant that I hate Harry Potter! And, yes, you are right about the brown parts! :D I can never have enough of those. Someday, I want to do a viking layout, and I might buy the burrow for that reason only. I have never concern myself with HP, but another useful viking part would be the three-headed dog thing.(cerberus?) ANOTHER HOGWARTS! AAAAHHH! I'm getting tired of those real fast! 4736 sounds kinda useful though, if Dobby looks like the old one, which I don't have, and if it's cheap, which I doubt, I'll have to get one to use as Gollum from LOTR. Hagrid's Hut will probably be around 29.99 to 50.00, and if it's a penny over the former, nothing doing! But by then, the new castle theme will probably be out and I won't have the money to buy anything else! :D Oh, and thank you for the translation!

HP sets are, for anything other than parts, are not really worth it for some people, because there is no doubt they will be "fleshies". :?

I wouldn't mind this at all. I like the sets for the first two films for the most part, as they had some nice elements in them. The set themselves weren't of mind-blowing quality though...

I didn't want to start a new topic for just a simple question so i write it here instead.

Is there a simmilar homepage as Classic-castle but for Harry Potter??

there are fan pages for almost all lego themes, Castle, pirates, space, bionicle etc...
But i can not find a page for HP...
Help me please...

Hi Jacob, as far as I know there isn't a dedicated site for LEGO Harry Potter but, From Bricks to Bothans(FBTB) restructured themselves to be 'the' place for all licensed themes some months ago. It's doubtful that you'll find much more talk around there than you will here though, what with the line being on hiatus for so long.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.

Eurobricks has a forum dedicated to licensed themes, so you could probably join the discussion of HP that they have going on in that forum.

As already noted, there is no significant community site devoted to LEGO HP (there was, briefly, From Bricks to Broomsticks, a spinoff of FBTB, but it closed down). There are relevant sections on more general LEGO sites. Lugnet has a HP section, but it is dead (no posts in 6 months). On FBTB there is a licensed themes section, which is active, and there have been three HP topics in the past month. Also on Eurobricks there is a licensed theme section, which is also an active forum, and 6 of the threads in the past month are on HP. In both forums, btw, topics include sets, the video game, and MOCs. Here on CC, HP talk usually goes here in the general LEGO forum, though sometimes MOCs get put in the Castle MOCs section. I've featured a couple of HP MOCs on the front page.

I don't think there is enough traffic to warrant an HP forum, but someone could start a good hp LEGO blog and have enough to post with semi-regularity, especially if they also go back and post on older MOCs, review all of the old sets, etc.

Hmmmm... I would be more interested if they were not fleshies. I just cannot do it. Some great parts and neat figs but the flesh colored look is just horrid besides the classic yellow figure color.
