What were your first Castle sets
Re: What were your first Castle sets
I can't remember what my first set was. It would have been one of these -

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6076-1
I was probably only 6-7 when I got these.

My first set was Black Falcon's Castle or the BF catapult.... sadly I have not found the catapult after my dark ages ended.

My first Castle LEGO set was http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6077_1 although I had to share it with my brothers..
As for the Oldest Castle LEGO set it'd be a toss-up between the Knights procession and the Yellow Castle I bought about a decade ago, http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6075_2.

Mine was the 70s Knight's Procession:

I desperately wanted the original yellow castle but my parents wouldn't relent (if only I'd been a spoiled only child like my mate down the road who at least got the Tournament set).
Fast forward about 30 years and I now have just about all the Kingdoms sets + a few of the 2007-2009 Castle sets. I actually prefer the Castle line to Kingdoms but it was a bit hard to justify spending money on them at the time of release as we'd just had our first child and my wife wasn't working.

Re: What were your first Castle sets
The first Castle sets I ever owned were the Forestmen's Hideout and the 1988 Castle Mini Figures.... Unfortunately, they got given away, along with most of the rest of my LEGOs when I went into my first Dark Ages from 1995-1997... The first Castle Sets I got when I came out of my Dark Ages were the Royal Knights 6078 Royal Drawbridge, 6036 Skeleton Surprise, and the Royal Knights Catapult that was part of the 2-pack with the Spyrius spaceship (I combined parts from the two and a Town helicopter to make a fantasy-themed Gyrocopter, sort of like in Warhammer or Warcraft II)...
The OLDEST Castle set I have is the 6057 Sea Serpent, which I won in 1997 in an online auction. I also managed to find a box of the 1994 "Medieval Knights" minifigure pack at a local retail store, which is the source of my lone Wolfpack Renegade. I also managed to find a couple Dragon Knights Crossbow Carts as well... I also somehow managed to acquire at least two Crusaders.... Possibly thanks to the 1998 re-release of the Treasure Cart.

Re: What were your first Castle sets
I actually have two of them! (they mostly went to contribute parts for my massive Japanese-styled post-apocalyptic castle, though.....) Those sets provided me with my first "elves" post-dark ages.... I HAD a ton of the original Forestmen (which my brother and I used as elves, we even had a replica of Caras Galadhon built from parts of the original forestmen sets), but unfortunately I lost them all when we gave the sets away during my first dark age.H3LLB0Y3 wrote:My first set was Bandit Ambush.
