Curved Amphiteater Walls
Hello everybody,
a lot of people asked me which technic I used to build the Amphiteater's curved walls in my Nikaia Antipolis' MOC http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/282876
SO, I posted some building "instructions" in pictures: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/284340
I hope you'll enjoy them.
Take care,
Dan

This is great.
I always appreciate it when a builder is kind enough to share one of the tricks behind his or her work. Your amphitheatre is a work of art, so seeing the technique you used to make it come together is a nice bonus.

Thanks for your kind words, I simply try to do the same as others have done with me. I can improve my skills because others accept to share their knowledge, and I am gratefull with them. That's what we call a "Community", isn't it?Blueandwhite wrote: I always appreciate it when a builder is kind enough to share one of the tricks behind his or her work

Re: Curved Amphiteater Walls
Great step-by-step instructions! I'm really surprised that a 2x3 brick can snap onto the plates even with the curvature. What a great discovery!
I've also been experimenting with curved building techniques, and also discovered how useful those "log" pieces are. Most of my experiments have been with tighter radii, so the logs don't work as well as the 1x1 rounds, but for your application, they work (and look) terrific!

I had no idea that this was possible, nor that it could look so amazing and so seemless. Thank you very much for sharing this, and if I ever post something usng the technique you will be given your well earned credit.
Back to the front!

Re: Curved Amphiteater Walls
Very cool! Many thanks.
Sorry (and if pedantry annoys you, you should stop reading this) but I can't take it any more. It's not an amphitheatre, it's a theatre. For some reason this really bugs me. I know that K3G knows the difference really because he calls it a theatre on MOCpages and in the original thread. I'll stop now. And I know, I should probably get out more.

Hey K3G,
Thanks for putting this together. I've added this as a link from our How-to page and posted it on the front page.

Re: Curved Amphiteater Walls
That is a really well made set of instructions. I, too, had no idea that 2x3 bricks would fit like that.

Re: Curved Amphiteater Walls
This totally deserved a front page linking. It's a lovely technique, one I hadn't seen before and, most importantly, it's not really fiddly or uses loads of rare pieces. I think we'll see a whole heap of creations using this in the future.
Thanks for sharing.
