The Worst King
Which King, in the history of the Lego Castle franchise, deserves to take the Crown of the Worst King? Who would you least likely live under?
The lazy Royal King, who likes to ride around as a Dragon Master, rather than govern his country, and doesn't even have the discipline to tell his soldiers to shave?
The sadistic King Leo, who has his men joust among spinning halberds?
The Morcian King, who forces (or tolerates...) his knights to dress up in all colors of the rainbow?
The Fantasy King, who I'm (as of now) unable to get any dirt on?
... or the Kingdoms King, who would rather sit on his behind and leaves his subjects to their fate, as you can see in Mill Village Raid?

Does a certain fellow named Basil count as a King?

Re: The Worst King
Hah, maybe. He had his people live in piles of rocks on Draenor, so he might be a strong candidate

Basil is immediately who came to mind when I read the title of this thread. Consider his nomination seconded!

I vote for the Chess King, who had no kingdom (or horse) with which to bargain.

King Morcia hands down. He has awful taste! His soldiers look like jelly beans and his castle *shiver*. He attaches catapults to horses! Need I say more??

Re: The Worst King
By far the worst king must be:
(via Bricklink)
The Troll/Orc King. Think about it. He's only the king because he's the strongest and can push everyone around. If you don't follow his orders, he'll kill you. If you're not under his command, he'll search you out and kill you. You'll have to serve long, grueling hours and live in a really nasty area of the Kingdom, filled with filth and death. Worst. King. Ever.

This guy is the best at being the worst, so in a way he's one of the best kings and thus doesn't quite qualify.
It's one thing to be the best at being the best, but what about being the worst at being the worst??? Umm, my brain hurts now...

The worst at being the worst... Basil all the way. He's comical rather than scary

Re: The Worst King
Yeah, but.....
If you're the worst at being the worst, then doesn't that mean you're the best at being worst, since you were worst of the worst? Is the first worst the last worst? Who really is surest about the first worst, and why so terse? What about bratwurst?
Or does being the worst of the worst just mean you are lame? I think if you're looking for the "Lamest King", then Basil wins, hands down. But if you want the "Worst King", then it's the Orc King.

Re: The Worst King
The Black Monarch. After his untimely death he proceeded to haunt his own men.
Re: The Worst King
Does the impostor King count, that came in the set 9349 Fairytale and Historic Minifigures.

He came with a scepter, cape and crown. He wears a tunic instead of armour and doesn't even have a beard! Its not historically accurate if the king doesn't have a beard

So I take it that you are another person who believes that the ghost is none other than the Black Monarch himself?Lego Enthusiast wrote:The Black Monarch. After his untimely death he proceeded to haunt his own men.
The Black Monarch, and his successor who is visiting him (in the set Black Monarch's Ghost, probably his son) should get the nod for most badass king. Everything about that faction was awesome. Period.
I don't think Basil should get the title of worst king. In the lego standard continuity, he was undefeated.
