Sacred Forest Village

Post by blufiji »

So I've lurked on this site for about two years, and Ive Posted one item, that item being signing up for the Outlaws on LCC. Now that I have a lot more free time, I'm looking to change that. I posted this MOC on MOC pages.com and now I'm wanting to post it here to officially start being part of the community. So here is my first real Castle MOC, a kind of elf/forestman/ranger thing, Sacred Forest Village.

Very nice! Could you take some closeups of the tree trunks on the larger trees?

Impressive! The trees are all awesome. I really like how you used the rubies as fruit on one of the trees.
You would rather be building right now.

Welcome to Classic Castle, Blufiji. That's a really neat forest you've built.

That is an absolutely gorgeous creation loaded with awesome details. But your photography is killing it. I know photographing something that large is a real pain, but a model that good deserves an equal amount of love on the presentation as clearly went into the building. If you google around, you'll find lots of tips for photographing LEGO, but the few I would point out right off are: make sure your model is in focus; lose the timestamp; and use a neutral background. I don't want to discourage you from posting, because you clearly have great building skill, and I'd hate to see you get dismissed or ignored because no one can see your creations well enough. :)

Thanks everyone for commenting on the model I really appreciate you guys support. To porscehmc2: thank you for the advice. I'm quickly discovering that building to that caliber requires equal caliber photography. I hope to do a better job on this next go around. Thanks guys!
