[MOC] Medieval Construction Site

Post by arselus »

Hi Classic-Castle forum,

I wanted to share my Medieval Construction Site, and ask for your support in the Bricklink Designer Program Series 7: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-p ... ction-Site

I've been designing this "in-progress" gothic cathedral for the last several years. I've wanted to add this as my contribution to the world of Castle. We have many amazing castles, large and small. There are also many amazing cathedral builds - but most of them or expo-scale or museum-scale only, and not really practical for the average Castle fan or collector. With this build I wanted to showcase historically accurate(ish) building techniques and architectural elements of medieval cathedrals, while keeping the build relatively accessible to many builders. The scale was set from the Medieval Town Square, but I think it would also work with the Lion Knights Castle, as medieval cathedrals were often as large as (and taller than) average sized castles (such as Burg Eltz or the Tower of London).

I'd appreciate your vote and feedback!

I also wrote about the build process back during BDP 6 in this Brickset article: https://brickset.com/article/114150

This is pretty cool, and quite a unique creation! Lots of interesting techniques used here!

Your town is looking great! Having a church under construction is a great way to show an interior and exterior.
