legands collection and other kits

Dear Lego;
I loved the legands castle kit offered on shop.lego.com. This was a wonderful way to get the bricks i needed at a fair price as it offered all good sets for a better price than one would find if purchasing the sets seperately. I went on the web site one day, intending only to buy a BFF, but when i saw the excellent deal i bought the kit with BFF guarded inn and BSS.

I was very dismayed to find this kit no longer offered. I decided to move on to the orient exp sets in the hopes of picking up a dragon fortress. I was extremely excited to see an orient china kit. I really only wanted the emperor's ship and dragon fortress but i figured if this deal was as good as the castle kit i would buy the entire thing. So i pulled out my calculator and low and behold there is no bulk discount on the orient kit.

May i ask why the large kits no longer seem to be offered at a discount? After all, the kit is rathe rpointless when its price is simply the sum of the individual sets.
