Do you like the Shadow Knights?

Post by Graynar »

Hi guys!

I was just wondering how much you guys like the Shadow knights.

Currently I have 6 Shadow knights, and 6 Vladeks. I must admit, the Shadow knights are very cool. And they look good when there is a lot of them. Vladek isn't too bad, his sword is perhaps the weakest part of him.

So just a couple questions, why you like them and how many you have or want to have. I know we're not all fans of them but, but still feel free to discuss them! :D

My favorite warriors second to the "Jojo" Blackfalcon spearman (hence my incredibly nifty avatar). Working on chapter 4... Man, I wish I had more for this battle scene...

Hello!

The shadow knights ain't too bad. I like the colour scheme as well as the barbute helmet. Not so much the Scorpion on their breast. Their face is a nice - well, an angry - addition to the sortiment of character faces.

I too like the helmet and the angry face. Not too keen on the torso. For some reason it doesn't really look lego-like, the way all previous figures looked. It doesn't quite fit in for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it.

I also like they come with classic weapons, not these terrible new swords.

I also like their helmets and faces, I really don't care much about the rest of them I guess you could customize them...

Personally speaking, I don't see what see in them.

I only have two Vladek, and I think them better than the shadow knights. I'll admit that the shadow Knights have some cool things. But I don't really see what so cool about them. I mean no shields? The helment is really neat, but I don't love the rest of the guy, just because he has a cool hat.

Shadow Knights are neat, but I don't really like them.

I really like the shadow knights helmet, and would like to see it available in dark gray, and/or light gray.

the rest of the guy is cool, and definitely way better as a new faction than what we have been getting. I would like to see footsoldiers from each of the Knights of Morcia.. then we could see some real battles...

(you know, Danju invading Santis' lands... :D )

Well, I don't own any yet; but from what I've seen, the helmet rocks, the face is ok, and the torso...would get thrown over by the mounds of HP torsos.

I like 'em. I think they are the best fig in KK2 and can hold their own in the castle universe of factions. The head is decent but is not why I like them. The new helmet is very cool and the color scheme works very well. They look great in formation. I am not crazy about the "elite" shadow knights though. The combination of the new helm, the euro armor, and the speckling makes them look fat, in my opinion. Speckled stuff will come in handy for some other fig though!

I have 18 and want to have around 24 or so. That is size I like to keep my factions. I use a different head for every soldier and 24 different heads aren't that hard to get.

As far as Vladek goes, I don't like his fig this year. The red armor just doesn't look right. The old black armor was much better. Verdict is still out on his new shield.

Heck, the shadow knights are perhaps the best figs in all the KK2 line. I like the torso print, the color scheme and the helmet. I'm glad they are heavily featured in year two of KK2. The line is much better balanced now.

I like everything there is about the shadow knights. Well not quite everything because they don't have shields. I find the color and the torso very appealing. I think it is because i am a big fan of the fantasy genre and not so much classic.

Definitely a fan of the Shadow Nights, Ive got around 20 of em right now and looking to top my collection of around 40 or so. As for not haveing any shields it makes sense seeing how they wield axes and doing so with a shield in hand would be quite difficult. However I know placing a sword in hand makes a shield an option and this can be achieved quite easily using a custom sticker. As for the Elite Shadow Knights I kinda like em, sure they look a little fat but I think this adds to the heavy armament look that they should have seeing how they are wearing heavy armor. Now for Vladek, I'll admit I hate his helm its just WAYYY toooo big much like all the KK2 'jelly bean' knights. I like both styles of armor and actually like the new scorpion design more than the earlier version. So to sum it up I am really quite happy that Lego has produced the shadow knights as they strongly add to my evil army like no other faction, in fact although I have not decided for sure yet there are thoughts of trading off much of my earlier castle figs for more Shadow Knights of all types.
well I would at least like to think that I'm evil...

Hi guys!

I find it strange how TLC limits each set to have a max of two regular shadow knights. Except in Valdark's dark fortress which contains three elite shadow knights.

TLC has also put only two chinese soldiers in the orient expedition dragon fortress. Two chinese soldiers in the dragon ship. But looking back to KK1, I see even less figures, but they where more usable. You still could get only two kettle head soldiers in Leo's castle.

Sigh! Enough talking for now. I like the Shadow knights because they have their own faction. They are a new faction right? Wouldnt it be cool to see shadow knight archers. With a quiver, bow, and maybe a differen't torso, and face.

By the way: how did you guys get so many Shadow knights?

I love Shadow Knights! I only have one, but I want lots more! I like every thing about them: Their helmet rocks, their face is cool, and I love their dark red/black colors. Their torso design in pretty good, though I'm not much a fan of faction logos printed on torsos.

Easily the best fig of the KK2 line. 8)
