A monk and his crusifix (also, an islamic moon)
Hey all, sorry for the strange title, I couldn't think of anything else to call it.
Here is a Monk I made a little while ago inspired by marakoeschtra's figs. I needed an accessory so I figured a crusifix would be appropriate. (a few more pics 2, 3, 4,)
I was pleased with the result and I wondered what else I could make that was similar. I saw one of those old wrenches laying on my desk and the idea sparked. It looks similar to the islamic moon atop Mosques. (BTW: I don't mean to offend anyone, if there is a problem I'll take it off.) Here it is, and a closer detail pic
I imagine these in front of an army marching, and someday maybe I can incorporate them into a MOC. Please let me know what you think, I'm very interested in your opinion! Thanks for looking.

Hey wuntztwice,
That 4-way connector piece works really well in this context. My sig fig approves:
The wrench is a really clever implementation of a non-obvous piece in a castle setting.

Hmmm.. That cape isn't custom, is it? i can't really tell how it's on there, but it looks great! And I really like that cross.

I love the cross, I'm definately going to have to steal that idea. It looks good on a staff, and would look equally as good on top of a roof.
I like the sickle moon, too. I had a similar idea when I saw the crescent wrench piece.

Excellent use of the wrench. I am half muslim, and that's a pretty good representation. I will try to utilize a similar design. Usually the crescent piece is quite a bit larger, and the crecsent is on the wrong side. It's suppose to be like a C. But excellent representation, few people would have the courage to make something like that. I thank you for your effort.

Thanks for all your kind words guys!
I thought it was a bit small, but that's the piece I used, so... OH! I'll turn it around.
So, no custom, and I'll have to take pics of the corrected crecent moon.

Nope, no custom parts here. It's simply two brown capes. The one in back is on how you would regularly put it on and then the one in front is folded in half and stuck over the first cape. They are held close together by a small white LEGo rubber band (like a white rope, what-ever those are called on monks, I forget right now.)E of Alshire wrote:Hmmm.. Good job on both of them. The cross turned out quite well. I also like the wrench as a crescent moon. Way to go!

Those are really nice. I especially like the connection between the friction pin and the spear. Quite creative.

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

I really like the crescent moon. The cross, I'm not so sure of. Though it is probably better than most solutions.

Hey, the cross is fantastic. Did you thought of making procession or a battle between Crusdaters and Muslims? It may be quite interesting.

Both the cross and the crescent are the best I've seen so far. I've made a cross myself using this part http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4733 , a pike and some flag poles. I used it not as a cross but to carry the flag from KK I King Leo's Castle.

Excellent cross wunztwice, I don't think I have any of the 4 way connectors, i'll have to get some on my next order for sure.
Cheers.
Cheers.

How did you connect the pieces you used for the cross together? Those are awsome by the way.
