New Viking Set!

Post by Anubisconq »

I know that many threads have been shut down that were like this, but I figure that it is alright now figuring the new KK2 Castle isn't out yet either. If I'm wrong, re-direct me.

These Viking sets look as though they will be released later this year:

Yup, it seems there was a thread on this a while back, but these look to be the final sets.

I am really looking forward to any new figs and especially those 1x4 brown tiles with the gold "celtic knot" pattern on them. I have a lot of uses for those already!

Both of these are looking great. The catapult from the Ofnir set looks like it could seriously sling some brick, and the other one is great for the figs. I think I see some new torso designs in there, or at least on new color torsos.

I personally dislike the Dragon and the other creatures included into the Viking theme, although I love Nordic mythology (check my nick  ). But the catapult is something else - these are 7!!! minifigs with their lovely weaponry. Yes, this one looks good for sure.

Like we really need more catapults! :
The 7020-1 set looks like it would make a good army builder with 7 figs.
I might buy that one but I doubt I'll get the other set.

I doubt I'll be buying either of these, but I'm sure I'll Bricklink (so it's a verb now? ) some of those brown intertwined snake tiles. Very pretty. I mean awesome. Viking's aren't pretty.

Are you sure these are not two parts of the same set? I mean, why would the dragon be fighting a single Viking? And why is called Viking double Catapult VS The Armoured Ofnir Dragon? I don't know, it's just a nagging feeling.

I only have a problem with the long flag shaft. I don't like that red chunk in the middl of it. I will probably substitute it for something of this design.

Besides that, I cannot wait for the new Vikings line! I love the Vikings!

You need to scroll the image to the right. It does have a double catapult. I have also seen both of these sets in person and they are pretty nice. 7020 is a definite army builder if you do not want to buy the fortress.

Hey,

Yeah, I'm really excited about that set as an army builder. I actually don't have any Viking sets yet (I actually buy very few sets - instead I tend to buy bulk pieces and Bricklink special elements), so this is a great way to get the figs. Also five spears in light bley, five patterned shields, two speckly-chrome halbereds, a couple of those annoying KKII swords but at least in good colors, those two patterned tiles, and tons and tons of little horn/tooth elements.

I know it's a doulbe catapult, I mean why wouldn't they call Viking Double Catapult for the catapult set, and Armoured Ofnir Dragon for the other set, if they were seperate?

The Ofnir set has something that looks like a double trebuchet. The other set looks like a double very tall ballista (sorta). Two different siege weapons. Also, In the Ofnir set, it looks like they've taken your spear idea (spear in a ski).

P.S. Sorry if I sound a little rude.

That's OK, I think I sounded a little rude, too.

Does anyone know what the prices will be?

Amazon.uk has them at
7020 £17.99
7021 £24.99

Are we to expect a $25 and $35 price point or will the Brits get the raked over the coals again and end up with the higher price?

Anyone?

Heh at first I didn't see the side scrolling either - I thought woah that is one tough Viking, to capture a dragon all by himself!
