Classic Castle MOC by Brickshelf user lovebacu

Post by Traveler »

While browsing recent additions to Brickshelf I ran across this castle in the same style as the late 80's System Castle sets, built by lovebacu.

That's really amazing. That's really the standard that I think lego should base their creations off of. I realize that it a bold statement, but this castle is a very nice scale, and it looks very nice.

That would be perfect model of a set that LEGO could use to really bring back the 80's style LEGO castle with a punch. The new line brought back much of the older pieces but a superb castle like that would really bring back the feel of the golden age of LEGO castle.

That's pretty nice. Apart from the castle, I like how the dueling soldiers are posed in a Lego like way; without any contact :).The only thing that seems a bit odd is that green flag. I know, Black Falcons used that flag in a set, but it seems oddly placed in the MOC.

I like the way the combatants are using the lego 'fair play' system, ie no interference from those on the walls...

I like the modular feel of the castle, that really brings back the older style of castle.

The maker did a excellent job on this. I always fell different when I see a MOC like this though... The only thing I don't is this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2490818 . The new and old greys together.

This looks very good. I like how it retains the feel of the BF sets, but still looks bigger and stronger than them.

You use what you have, unfortunately. Actually, the way the builder spread them out evenly really gets rid of most of the ill effect. The just look like different stones.

Nice. I just wish LEGO could make sets like these again. Castle 2007 is a step in that direction, but I'd love to see a re-release of the old Castle themes.
