How do you guys view treasure in your Lego verse?

Me I base alot of it.... Gold coins(pirate sets), jewels, and all round translucent pieces. Usually I make white the most , blue next, yellow, the green and finally red.

In early castle set days, they had yellow circle pieces. I always treated these as "fools" gold.

I usually use pirate gold and jewels. The round trans pieces I only use in say a wizard's laboratory, as some weird artifacts or gems the wizard uses in his experiment. The round yellow 1x1 plates I used to use as bread until I got tan ones

I used to use the yellow round 1x1 plates as gold and the trans-colored ones as jewels. Now I've managed to amass a lot of gold coins and jewels, so those act as my treasue now. Plus all the crowns, chrome swords, and other shiny bits.

A while ago I thought I'd make a fabulous treasure heap with ... well ... all my chrome. Problem was, it didn't look like treasure, it looked like a big pile of chrome Lego. There were way too many chrome lightsaber hilts, exhaust pipes, swords, and such-- they were overpowering the gold coins that I thought ought to be the prevalent element. So I did some playing around and ultimately found what seemed to be a pretty good mix of chrome parts to resemble treasure by removing various chrome elements.

Some things I couldn't use at all: 2x4 bricks, exhaust pipes, wings, large cones, 2x2 round bricks, that big trophy element, fan blades. Things like that were just too large and stuck out like sore thumbs (unless of course they were TOTALLY buried).

Other things I found I could use as many of as I wanted, and it didn't seem to spoil the effect: 1x2 tiles, 1x1 round plates, daggers, gold coins (of course). They just looked fine no matter how many I added to the pile (though I expect daggers and 1x2 tiles would *eventually* get too numerous).

And most things needed to be balanced correctly-- too many looked strange somehow, and drew the attention away from looking treasure-y: spears, lightsaber hilts, armor, crowns, swords, visors, dishes, crystals, dragon helmets, trumpets, 1x2 grill tiles, 2x2 light reflectors, 4.5L bars, horns, antennas, keys.

Anyway, an interesting experiment.

I use gold coins, Pirate jewels, 1x1 bricks or plates, and any chrome gold/chrome silver, or the silvery armor or weapons from Castle/Fantasy.

Oooh, shiny!

I will usually use 1x1 round studs for the "classic" look, but occassionaly I will use the gold coins and some of the other stuff already mentioned, though most of them are so hard to position just right. What I would really like to use is 1x1 gold chrome round studs as seen in the Harry Potter quidditch set, and I believe a few came in the Durmstrang ship.

Well, My LEGO treasure is pretty much the chrome gold coins, chrome swords, and the 24-facet Jewel elements. Pretty basic stuff

The golden chalices that were recently released were one of my treasures for a short time, but now more sets have them, They're now just a normal part to me.

I currently use the pirate coins along with the 24 faceted jewels and the yellow goblets since I don't own the gold ones yet. In the past I went with the yellow 1x1 round plates and the 1x1 transparent plates. I don't practice that use anymore

My main method for special treasures is to use something that is "rare" or "unique" to my collection. I use the trans-green frog, HP rememberol (sp?), HP flute, trans-blue flame, and various other things for my treasures. I used to own the classic black short sword, but it was lost or stolen long ago

. The real kicker in my universe is that the richest minifig in the land is just a farm boy with his.....PITCHFORK

Am I the only one who uses gold nuggets(pictured here)?
It's the piece of excess from the coins mold, not considered a piece by Lego.

I usually would say the fewest quantity of a part(listed above) become the more valued piece.

Pirate coins and jewels (well, just one jewel, but that just makes it all the more valuable) are the "finished" treasure products, and the most valuable. A few gold crowns and maybe an Aquazone chrome crystal or two might be added to this.

1x1 round yellow plates can act as raw gold nuggets, and any 1x1 plates, round or otherwise, in any translucent colour is "uncut" jems. Yellow goblets are expensive drinkingware, but not part of the treasury.

After seeing the use of those "extra" center pieces from Pirate gold sprues used as gold bars in Stone Goblin's Siege at the Wolf Outpost, I wish I hadn't thrown them out all those years ago when I got my Pirate sets. They look really good in a medieval setting.

As far as weapons go, all my chrome daggers are in use by murderous rogues, and my one chrome greatsword is wielded by whomever the champion is in the current MOC. I do have two trans-light-blue spears, though, that make wonderful crystal decorations, and the purple Gungan shield with its gold printing is worth quite a bit, too. It must be made out of amesthyst or something.

No, my brother's and I kept all of them, but I still use em! Haha! You are not alone. I use coins for treasure, and yellow bits; like goblets and perhaps stuffs like that? I really don't think about it!

Well that is a mixmash of shiney stuff. When I had less transluscent peices as a kid, that was the gems, now it is mostly coins and rare pieces. I need to go and buy a WHOLE bunch of gold coins, when I have money again.

Oh, I forgot! The golden antlers from the Ninja line. Those are part of the treasury, too. Anyone else use those?
