Kings
In my verse each realm has a King or Queen(prince in one case). What about you guys? Do you have Kings as powerful fighters? Just military minded? Tyrant built on gathering as much riches they can?

I use my king as a watchfull eye of my kingdom if something goes wrong he will find a way to fix it. as for my queen she is a people person she likes to talk with others around the kingdom but for my prince he is all ready for battle any moment he is our kingdoms war chief and protector.

1. work!
2. work harder!
3. When all else fails.....BUILD LEGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we fly to victory!' said the dragon king.

You know, I've been looking for a King to add him to MOCs, but it occurred to me that there never was much royalty in my old creations back in the day. I have like a tournament Lady and a lady pirate I would sometimes use as a queen/princess, but for Kings I guess I just always felt like a kingdom with a good or healthy King wouldn't have much need for large armies. When I think of the best medieval stories, very few have healthy (or living) Kings sitting the throne.

Most of my factions have a King/Queen. They are usually high level fighter types but can be wizards, clerics, thieves, etc, as well with significant ability. Very few (if any) are "everyday" people. Some can be tyrants but that is dependant on whether I view the faction as good or evil. Most are the top level planners for their Kingdoms in addition to being the "Commander-in-chief" of their armies.
Some King/Queens are pure fantasy in that they are not corrupt and they care about the welfare of their subjects. Others are more contemporary in that they are very evil. Some bent on raising the earth to the ground and others bent on world domination. I take examples from top levels of government for this - don't have to look far. History also has some good examples for good and bad.
Kings/Queens have an important role in my factions as they can make or break a nation.

It depends on the faction, for me.
The Kings of Leon are very good fighters, and they train the knights personally.
The Dragon Lords' kings are more wealth minded, but are good dragon riders like the rest of their people.
The Kings of the Moy Kara Empire are usually peaceful, and usually can't fight. Instead, they have bodyguards to protect them from any enemies.
The Wolf Clan and Forest Clan leaders HAVE to be good fighters to become the leader.
The Dwarves are a no-brainer.
The High Elven Imperium's kings have varied combat skills.
The Orc Chieftans are good fighters as well, though old.
The Knights of the Black Falcon have skilled, fighting leaders.
The Lizardmen are all good fighters and hunters.
The Goblins, not fighting wars very often, are poor fighters.
The Lunarians are VERY good soldiers. Their kings often lead the armies into battle at the front lines.
The Sea Raiders' kings are fine warriors.
I'm sure I missed a few factions, but you should get the point.

When I was a kid, the RK King was always a fighter. However, when KK1 first came out, that King was much less of a fighter.
Nowadays, I don't have a king. It's very "local." I do have one knight who is in hereditary line as the King's Champion, but the title was given to another knight. He is quite jealous.
But that's it.

I'm not sure, in my little reality, if there is a king as the sole leader. Most "kingdoms" are currently ruled by emperors, dictators, councils. But this could all change depending on who wins the battles for reconcilliation. Isn't prefered realities fun?

I never doubted that there wasn't a King in the King's Castle or the Mountain Fortress. One doesn't have to have a "Crown" to be a King. The Lions, the Black Falcons, Forestmen, Dragons, etc, all had Kings and Queens in my factions even though there were no official crowns out.draugaer wrote:Its strange, until the royal knights, the lego factions didn't have kings. There have been a couple Ladies, but even the King's castle and King's mountain fortress didn't come with kings lol.

Depending on how the king reigns or current events he may not have the time to wear the crown often but only a helm. I always figured the gents in classic lego castle with double flags on their lance as the king in the sets it stated 'king's castle' or 'black monarch's castle'. Of course there are no rules either way.
Some places have kings some have other forms of government. It’s really not a KINGdom without a king or monarch though. You can have a council or senate like government that is elected by a certain group or everyone. You can do a ruling class that jointly rules, Ancient Rome was like this. The senate deriving from this group and only being voted originally by the landed. Just depends on what you want in your legoverse.
I have quite a few king’s for my factions. Some good, some bad, some neutral.

My factions have kings if there's someone with royal prerogative or practical ability enough to ascend to the throne. Might be a few emperors if someone gets power hungry. Haven't really planned it out but I figure I'll wing it, it's not like I'm writing a story or anything.

...and that's how Equestria was made!
