Set 10193 POLL

Post by Jacob C. »

Regarding set 10193...
Do you think its the best LEGO set ever made?
If not, then what other sets do you think surpass it?

Happy polling!

You should have a choice between 'no but it's in the top ten' and "no, it's nothing special'. That's probably what I'd vote but I can't vote on this because I have'tn touched this set yet.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Considering it isn't actually available yet I think this poll is a little difficult to answer.

I agree. This needs to be done in hindsight.. not beforehand.

I edited this poll to have the No option which allows a person to explain their decision.

In my opinion, the set is not the best set ever. It is special in that it is a large civilian set with multiple buildings, animals, and great figures.

The set isn't available yet but the pictures are detailed enough to get a good gist of the set and to form a good opinion on it.

I agree. I voted "No, but it's in the top 10" because that is closest to how I feel, but really I don't think it is necessarily a top 10 set. However it is an understatement to say that it is "Nothing special". It is an awesome set that I am looking forward to buying, but there are WAY too many great Lego sets to instantly elevate this one to the status of "Top 10", much less calling it the greatest set of all time.

I went with "No, explain" namely because of what others have said. It's not out yet. I cannot really be sure if its all that jazz until i have it and have built it and probably bought two more and built them.

It is pretty sweet looking thought...

I voted "No, but it's in the top 10" because i don't think it's the best LEGO set ever, but i do think it's the best castle set ever.

It is hard to vote this offering as the best set ever because although I own all of the castle sets ever made, I don't own hardly any of the other themes. So ultimately I would say this is a poorly worded poll. However, as far as castle sets go I would put this in the top 5 for sure.

I voted top ten, because for me Black Falcon's Fortress, Forestmen's Crossing and Guarded Inn edge it out, if only for sentimental reasons.

I don't think there's anything wrong with how you worded the poll, if it's not in your top ten it's probably not all that special. Ten is a lot.

For the older AFOLs here this question would have a different answer than some of the younger FOLs. There are a lot of sets over the past years in contention. For me, to surpass the feeling of having the yellow castle as a kid the set would have to be truely epic.

I say no, but in the top 10 - the Death Star is even more playsetish, the Taj Mahal is detail personified and brought to life with a bolt of lightning, and Green Grocer marries the two just as well as 10193

I voted to put it in the top ten. Although it doesn't have the same sentimental value as the older castle sets, I definitely think that it has a leg up on them in terms of architectural quality and detail. That said, nothing yet created beats the Black Seas Barracuda in my books, which is why I can't vote this one as tops.
