Raid of Scone

Post by Blego7 »

Scottish history has always been very interesting to me and I have been wanting to create a scene for a long time. Brickfair '11 gave me a perfect chance.

In the beginning of William Wallace's illustrious career, one of his first battles was the Raid on Scone. The city of Scone was where Scottish kings were crowned so it was important for Wallace to crown the rightful heir to the throne.

I hope you enjoy! Feedback/questions/criticisms are very much welcome! Thank you.

Very cool, I like your tree designs and the way you made the roofs is excellent :)

This is amazing! I really liked how you made the palisade, really great work.

The historic significance is awesome too.
Woe is me, woe is me, I used to have a hamster tree. Then it got eaten by a newt and now I have no cuddly fruit.

Wow! So many great details I don't know where to begin. Overall all I love your choice of colors and use of parts. The roofs are awesome and I love the trees. So many great props and details on the minifigs themselves as well as the bundles. I have yet to make a moc that looks this finished and complete. Good work sir! (love the Wallace Minifig!)

Mmmm...Scone....
Nice job, I actually like the minifigs a lot! The bridge is well constructed, and the little turtle is a nice touch. :)

Great work. The roof with the round 2x2 tile really stands out. May have to borrow that.
Nice total display, wish I could do that.

This is a really fantastic diorama. As others have mentioned, the roof looks great, as does the palisade wall. I'm not entirely sold on the tree, and I'm trying to figure out all the minifig legs in the field. I'm guessing some sort of crop, but I'm just not getting it. All in all though, it's a stellar scene.
