Have you guys been following this new line? I don't remember hearing much about it, and it looks like there are only two posts mentioning it when I search the General LEGO forum.

Looks like some good castle pieces and maybe some neat new creature heads / torsos. What do you think?

I think the set design is atrocious of the stuff ive seen but the figs seem to have potential- they could maybe make for Khajit-esque castle figs. If im picking up any of it it will be because of reductions or clearances though I think.

It looks like some sort of game. It has cards and a couple of the sets look like they have some sort of ripcord-powered cycles that you are supposed to launch through a gate, presumably to acquire points or something.

I do agree that the best part of this line will be the figs and the possibility of new fantasy races.

Also, there seem to be a couple of new sword-type elements, which always opens up new possibilities

It looks a lot like Ninjago, but with more suck.

I just don't get these sort of themes. They may be appealing to some of the marketplace, but appear to be a huge step in the wrong direction. Looks like limited playability, limited rebuildability (is that a word?) and lkely poor value for money when these hit the market.

Well I went to Legoworld in the Netherlands, a convention which is mainly marketed towards the children, and every boy there was walking with a sort of ninjago bandana-thingy. So I guess this kind of thing appeals a lot to (most of) the kids. I don't mind that much to be honest, whenever I see them in the sale-bins at the toystores I'll probably pick up one or two, if only to save on the new olive-green color, minifigs and minifig weapons/accessories.

No kidding, the minifigs are atrocious! Why doesn't Lego just abandon the minifig? Ninjago and this theme are both non-liscensed, and they both have weird minifigs in them that do not fit the general minifig aesthetic. I expect this from liscensed lines, but not from orginal themes. It sickens me that TLG has taken this direction. Though minifigs are one of the best parts of sets for kids, I don't see why they have to look so animated.

On the other hand, apart from the motorcycle-scooter things, I don't think the sets look too terrible. It looks as though some of them with the scooters are game based, while others are more of a classic vehicle based set. The game sets look like they each contain some sort of obstacle, which all seem pretty decent and creative. I am sure you could even combine multiple sets to create a large course, which looks fun.

Overall, apart from the minifigs, the line as a whole seems okay. Kind of a mix between the Lego Games and Ninjago with just a hint of Friends.

Why? No idea.

Will kids like it? Oh yes. My boys about freaked out and so has every one of their friends that I've shown the line to.

Will I buy them? I'll wait and see what the finalized sets look like. I also want to see the figs up close before I decide.

Kind of a mix between the Lego Games and Ninjago with just a hint of Friends.

LOL! I'm actually a little surprised they're bring Ninjago to a close. Based on some of the costumes I saw at a kids party at our church, I figure this is pretty popular - probably in part due to the cartoon.

I am intrigued by the racers with the little pull cord. They remind me of the old Robo Riders theme.

I haven't really cared about set design since I discovered BrickLink, so the design isn't an issue. It's all about the minifigs and the parts. I want a closer look at the crocodile and eagle guys. I know the eagle guys have cool looking printed heads. The lion guys look goofy and the wolf guys might be ok. So many cool things came out that it's actually a good thing that these sets are not "must haves" for me. I will admit that I am more excited to see them now that when I got a first look at the promo sets online.

I am kind of excited for them. For the parts and figs as others have said, but like Josh was saying I think I will want to see them close up before I decide for sure.
