I was playing around with some tree elements and decided to attempt to build a structure for my Wood Elf faction. I came up with this:
I decided that I wanted to do the structure a bit differently than a usual tree house-style build à la Forestmen and went with something that seemed a bit smooth and more organic. I thought that keeping it open-air and using the dish pieces for the roof helped to accomplish this.
I apologize for the poor image quality.
Any suggestions for how to improve the build? Feedback is appreciated!

I really like the dish plates as roof pieces- it achieves exactly the quality you were looking for. I would suggest adding smaller dishes- this piece: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4740 on top of the larger dishes to really finish out the smooth look of the roof. Either way, I like this, and I think it's a nice build!

Nice start with this! I agree with royalbrickcustoms and SSchmidt. The arches would work great, and if this is in a forest, we can give you tips on foliage. ANY foliage I think would help this as well.

I agree with SSchmidt, it is already looking better! As far as foliage, it would really help to know where this is located. I would say though that dark green foliage would work well with the Dark brown.

I'm imagining a relatively dense forest. I would have throw in some brick-built trees, but being at uni currenly, I'm with a small percentage of my usual building resources. I'm still open to any suggestions for foliage.

I feel quite confident Gary (Caelan on the forum) won't mind me linking some of his builds. In our LCC roleplaying game, he is a noteworthy builder, and some of his best work (I feel) involves creating dense environments. Let me link you two that come to mind.
I think both of these give two different interpretations of somewhat dense foliage. They could serve as a suitable starting point in creating the environment around your elven watchtower.
