I just feel miserable all over. Not only is mega growing, but its got the capital to buy that company. Plus, this addition will increase the size and the profits.

I'm scared. Let's revolt! If the Lego community all around the world acts up, it's sure to get someone's attention. Thus, ending our problem with Megablocks...

Lego will stay ahead with better set design, higher quality, better service, etc (I hope)
But when it comes to price, MB will win because their stuff is cheaper.
And Lego needs to "evolve" to sell products for what the consumers want.
I notice that MB has sets with fighter jets & tanks....
Kids & adults really like that stuff (at least here in the states)
Lego should expand it's horizons to cover more themes otherwise another company will.
If TLC's situation becomes dire, then as a last resort they could out source all their jobs & factories over seas to another country to save money.
But I have a feeling TLC will do just fine.

I didn't think of it like that......that would be good though!Maybe its a good sign... Maybe it means that MB is moving away from the bricks/blocks industry, which would be good if it was.

Oh, but there is a huge effect! Roseart has made some Lego puzzles in the past and I doubt they will do that anymore! Curses and dang it all! :evil:Formendacil wrote:I hardly see how this affects us too much.

PS. That was tongue in cheek, in case you didn't get that. Although I do own a Roseart Lego puzzle...and its MISB...aren't you all jealous?

This is disturbing news.... MegaBloks of America is like the Soviet Union of plastic building toys while Lego of China is the new NATO of plastic building toys!
I will send my armies to try and hold back their massive invasion of the US. But, I need back up!

My best Bender voice:
Haha, okay, we're boned.
Should I expand the Megabloks territory on my legomap methinks?

Thankfully Im all stocked up on Light Grey bricks, so just in case something bad happens, I will be able to survive this MB invasion!MegaBloks of America is like the Soviet Union of plastic building toys while Lego of China is the new NATO of plastic building toys!

Wonders if MB has declared war yet?

Sometimes a company diversifies and gets their hand into too many pots and falls a apart - perhaps we can hope.
Lego has been smart, they have stuck with a great product and weathered the ups and downs of the market, by staying true to their beliefs. Even if they have made some gafs, they are still competing. MB has the upper hand now - but will it be forever?
I know that in 10 years the lego in my closet will be able to be given to the next generation of Lego Enthusiasts - but the MegaBlocks will have hit the trash can - and not just because I don't like them, but because they wear out. Their designs are not as good and the figs break and blocks scratch - It's short term gain to make a cheap product - what will happen in 10 years?
Let's stick with Lego for the long haul - accepting their mistakes and lauding their success.
Some examples of good planning is their Dupo Licensing for Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer and now Thomas the Tank Engine - I know it doesn't mean much for castle enthusiasts, but it does mean the company is doing well in some markets
I am waiting for Vikings ....
