ML cad Help

Hey everyone,

Thanks to this post, I have decided to download MLcad. What are you opinions of the program? Can it be rendered to look good, or is it always in ML cad form.

Hey Shadow,

I really know very little about how to do these things, but you can definitely take a file you create and render it in POV-ray to make polished images. There are tons of resources on ldraw.org and discussion on lugnet.cad.

Also check out the sporadic model of the month/scene of the month competition on ldraw.org for some truly stunning images.

if you have downloaded the complete "package", you should have a great bunch of programs.

i would recommend MLCad for building and LPao or Lpub for rendering

you also can view models with Lview, but in a very lower qualitiy...

and click on the LDraw Tools Installer (Recommended) link to install everything.

I've used MLCad to design & LPub to create instructions for MOCs as I've been doing them. I wrote a short article on my first experience rendering instructions (including how to get the light gray looking right) here:
