The Beginnings of a Viking Village

Post by Athos »

Started work on the set for my the Johnny Thunder story and before I filled it with 1930s adventurers, I thought I would share it here. I hope to add at least two more houses, a fort and maybe a temple. If I can find enough brown pieces.

very nice! Great to see all these Viking MOCs. I especially like the turf growing on the roof, I was originally going to do something similar with my hall. Well done :D

I like these. I would move the statue up further, though, it looks awfully cluttered as is.

Also, the snow in the desert is an interesting addition.

Otherwise, though, looks great!

Yes, I agree. The statue kinda looks like a person, and isn't in the center of attention. The huts are also kinda, huttish, and too small.
Time to go nighty night mister west.

This is all looking like it is coming along great! I have but one complaint, it was very rare that a viking would build on such flat grounds, as they usually just built thier houses on an estimated flat area, so some little hills could add.
I ow it to wunztwice for directing me here.

I plan to expand it, so I'll probably spread it out. Going to have to get more snow covered trees though.

I'll add some more landscaping before the finished project (if there ever is one). I just didn't feel like digging out a bunch of tan plates last night.

Maybe they are Vikings from Nevada. We get snow here in the desert all the time... Actually, what I plan to do is cover it with a lot more snow and some green hills so the tan will look like pathways. Either that, or transplant the whole thing into a sea-side village.

Very cool huts. I don't really like the dark tan roof though. So it's definitely going to be Valhalla's Stepchildren then? Nice.

These look really nice. They seem very well proportioned, and I like the color scheme.

I counted up the votes a few weeks ago and Vahalla's Stepchildren had a sizeable, almost insurmountable, lead. So it looks like that's what it will be.

Good beginnings of a potentially great MOC. I also think that you should work on the colour scheme, but otherwise it looks very promising.

I think I'll put grass on the roofs of my houses, too!
