Re: Collectible Minifig Series 4

Scythians had used hats like the gnome wears. In fact its from these Scythian style headdress that the creators of the Smurfs, Gnomish myths, and other legendary/mythic characters with similar headwear have taken that hat design from. http://www.iranchamber.com/history/articles/images/scythians2.jpg

Re: Collectable Minifigures Series 5

There appears to be about 5 minifigs that are worth being "Army-able"!

Dang you LEGO! You keep taking back the money you pay me with these collectible minifigs! :roflol:

Re: What's your favourite Castle helmet?

I personally like the Flared helmet as it can be used across various cultures. I also like the Kettle Helmet as I actually like to use it for Southeast Asian warriors. Just look at these Siamese (Thai) soldiers in battle, ranging from lightly armored to fully armored: on foot, on horses, and on war ...

Re: Mixing factions

How's this for a mixed army?

A fraction of my army from 2004. There are 1,236 minifigs divided into several nations, but grouped together to make a nice pic.

Re: If you could bring back any Castle Subtheme...

I would LOVE to see a revamped Black Knights & Black Falcons type theme... But since we've seen Dragons, Lions, Crowns, Falcons/Hawks, how about the emblem being that of a Horse's head? Like the Horsehead which represents the Knight in Chess. Imagine a mix between Fantasy Era and Kingdoms in ter...

Re: Photo review of 6918 Blacksmith Attack

Those new "Heroica Weapons" would be awesome for anyone with a Dwarven Army. I sometimes wonder if LEGO will put out a Minifigure Sized "HEROICA" line. If that were to happen, it would be either a Secondary Castle-ish theme (much like Vikings or Prince of Persia) or Kingdoms' rep...

Re: The Decline of Lego Castle?

What KK2 could have been? http://www.mikerayhawk.com/castle.htm http://www.mikerayhawk.com/morcia.htm Man...if only some of those designs had been realized in actual sets... The Guardian appears to have been some sort of Golden Knight, which did not get realized until Fantasy Era Castle... What bug...

Re: Castle Heraldry mayhem

I've thought about making them Persians... but that is currently occupied by the Crown Knights, one of the few Asiatic factions that has a shade of blue as one of their colors. Persia has had red as well as blue as its color. Plus the Lion has been a symbol in Persian art and the Shah's heraldry for...

Hua Mulan battle scene

This is from a live action movie of Mulan, and the story is a tad bit different than the Disney version... naturally.

But, like the Disney version and indeed the whole basis of her legendary act is that she leads a defence against nomadic horsemen.

Castle Heraldry mayhem

With all these new parts and pieces from Kingdoms, Collectible Minifigs, and etc. coming out... Im having to reorganize my LEGO Armies and it's becoming rather exhaustive. The way I have my armies set up is that they are national/cultural factions spread through about 8 different timelines through o...

They're taking the minifigs to Isengard!

The elft has a lot of useful parts to me, except their hairpiece with ears.
