Re: Rivendell

Wowzers. I read the interview over on TBB and while the build is simply amazing, I think the best part is that this was a family affair for you. Back in the day, my dad and I played LEGOs every now and then and I wouldn't give that up for all the money in the world--or in Erebor. Noob questi...

Re: The Kingdoms Sets released!

I'm a fan of the new castle - very similar to the older models which is a good thing in my eyes.

I have not done anything castle related in close to six years, but after seeing this set, my imagination and salivary glands are out of control. This is simply the best looking castle set I've ever seen.

Here is to getting out of my dark ages :)

Awesome! I love this battle, and you've done it great justice. The shields are great!

Have you read "The Gates of Fire?"

I am really looking forward to what you come up with. I would recommend reading "Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield (one of my favorite books) if you want a great narrative (very well researched fiction) about the battle.

I love it! The scenery is what makes it - I love that it's situated on an island and that you built part of the landscape around it. Inside, I also really like the variety of buildings you have as well as the streets which have some slope to them: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1070...

Blut'Ader took me a few years to finish (kept running out of bricks, had to purchase more, etc, etc). The area enclosed by walls is the equivalent of 30 32x32 baseplates (5x6). http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=611053 The village itself is the equivalent of 9 32x32 baseplates (a lot of...

The castle is amazing. Like many people have said before - there is just so much life going on. One of the biggest things that I like about it is its accessibility. It's a lot harder to make a castle accessible when when is building on such a bit scale. I also love the details! The drawbridge is gre...

Bruce - you're undertaking a massive project - so far, it looks good. The walls alone will be a massive burden on the grey bricks. Do you have those bricks available? If not, they are going fast ...

Very impressive so far.

Awesome! The second assassin is almost unncessary - I'm sure the first one will get the job done. Great scene!

I would love for lego to make a set like that. I won't get my hopes up though.

I just read Blueandwhite's reply, and I see mine is not that different. D'oh. Should have read it first :) I like the idea of a siege, or incorporating a story into it.

James, I really like your castle, and I don't think you should tear it down. Why don't you build a landscape around it? Maybe a road leading up to it (through the desert I am guessing). Just a little work in that direction would add a lot of personality. -- Pawel http://www.hostultra.com/~verneer/
