BrickWorld 2008 Recap
Ben E. 29 VI 08

BrickWorld 2008 was held last weekend in Chicago. It was a blast! I really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with fellow castle fans like Dale (DaleDVM), Dan (Sibley) Thomas (Prince Imdol), Bill, David (Crazylegoman), Saaz, etc.

Highlights include a trans-clear version of the Yellow Castle, Thomas' Castle, Dale's Skeleton Tower and Armies, CCC Wall sections and farms, Bill's Cathedral, my redoubt, Dan's houses, LOTR bookends, David's houses and landscaping.

Thank you to Steve Witt for providing an invading force who enjoy fun and games on their time off. It was also nice to check out the new Castle Giant Chess Set. Check out the various Brickshelf and Flickr galleries and leave you comments in this thread.

Weekly Set Re-Review: Fright Knight's Catapult
Ben E. 15 VI 08

Join the weekly Classic Castle set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our catapult of critique and which ones crumble in shame!

This week’s set is 2540 Fright Knight's Catapult.

Fright Knight's Catapult was released in 1998. The Bat Lord pushes this small cart which fires flaming shot.

Castle Sets Year in Review: 2006
Ben E. 2 VI 08

This week I would like to take a break from the usual weekly set review and look at an entire years’ worth of sets. If this proves popular, I will follow this article with other years in review in the future.

2006 was an important Castle year because it introduced large-scale new castle exclusives, giant siege weapons, and the continuation of chess sets, the high point of Knight’s Kingdom II, and the end of Vikings and KK2.
