Pop-up book
31 VIII 16

Grant Davis (Takkata in our forum) and Jason Allemann have teamed up to build a LEGO pop-up book. You can watch the video to see how it works. The insert can be swapped out to show different scenes, like a castle, a cottage, a jungle temple or an old west saloon. You can see all of Grant's creations in his Flickr stream or his YouTube channel. You can see Jason's work on his own site JKBrickworks, his Flickr stream or his YouTube channel. Be sure to discuss this in our forum.

Sometimes greatness is not about massive intricate builds, but just about the posing. Omar Ovalle's Greetings from the Duellists uses his customized Technic figures to great effect. Check this out along with all of his MOCs on Flickr and then discuss it in our forum.
Börzerk's Journey
27 VIII 16

Dubbadgrim made Börzerk's Journey for the Warlord Community Build in the Guilds of Historica over on Eurobricks.

"On their way to the surface of Nocturnus, Börzerk Baël and his warriors stumble across some ancient ruins. They quickly discover a fearsome beast inhabits the lower chambers, while scorching lava flows overhead. Börzerk doubts his crew's ability to fight head on, but quickly devises a better tactic – by provoking the animal enough, it might just find the forces of nature finishing the job instead..."

Check this out along with all of Dubbadgrim's MOCs on Flickr and then discuss it in our forum.

InnovaLUG (David Rajcok, Andrew Rajcok, Mark Erickson, Steven Erickson, Isaac Snyder, John Snyder, Tim Schwalf, Graham Gidman, Ian Spacek, Matthew Oh, Lee Muzzy, Aaron Gomez, Michael Gomez, David Eldridge, Jacob Pennington, Paul R) pulled off an amazing collaborative display at BrickFair VA recently called Ye Old Merry Battleground. You can see pictures of the individual entries with builder attributions on the InnovaLUG page or see additional photos of the combined display in this Flickr album, and then discuss it in our forum. One interesting aspect of this collaboration was that rather than have all of the MOCs connected to a large layout of baseplates, the irregular footprint MOCs were arranged organically, and small bits of landscaping were interspersed between them to help tie everything together. There's a discussion of various collaboration styles in our forum as well.
